joba isnt a starter

andy is trash

wang is mentally done

tats 3/5 of the rotation in shambles

we got good arms in the farm, and throw in joba if they want him.....just get starter....the way this team is compiled, the best case scenario is one and done in the playoffs

I am so glad you don't work for the Yankees Front Office..

You panic waaay to often. Joba is what 23 years old with a 4.25 ERA.. yeah let's get rid of him.

I would trade Joba and prospects for Roy Halladay in a heartbeat. He changes the balance of power in the AL East for the Yankees.

Joba is potential...Halladay is a top 3 pitcher in the AL. Yanks already kicking themselves over Santana, they should go after Roy. No matter the cost.

Even if the cost is Joba, Montero, Jackson?

Montero is absolutely untouchable in my book.

Joba+Jackson would be as high as I go for Halladay, and I don't even know if I'd do it.

Joba and Jackson? Hell yeah, sign me up.

I mean it's clearly not time to give up on Joba or anything, but when you can go land one of the 2 best starters in the league right now, there's a price to be paid. Granted this is all hypothetical because the Jays ain't dealing Doc within the division unless one of the Yanks, Sox, or Rays is willing to give up a king's ransom. Personally, I think he'll end up riding out this contract with Toronto.

It sounds like Halladay will be traded and of course you feel like we would love to get him, but not at the expense of Hughes/Joba/Montero/Jackson/etc. It sounds like Toronto wants to trade him to the NL which would be the best case scenario for us IMO.

I would rather take on Vernon Wells and his hideous contract and give away lesser prospects to get Doc. I'm sure the Jays would love to move Wells.

The Jays are completely open to trading Roy Halladay within the division because they are so strapped financially and they have Rios and Wells locked up to long term dead weight contracts.

In my opinion, I gotta ask...are the Yankees going to go another few seasons being the bitches of the Red Sox and Angels or are they going to make a move to re-establish themselves as the premier powerhouse of the league?

I'd give up Joba, Kennedy, and Jackson or Montero if that's what it takes to land Halladay. The truth is, the Yanks have only 2 dependable pitchers Sabbathia and Burnett who can't cut it against the Red Sox.

If they trade for Halladay we'll still be one starter short. I wish we can get him without giving up Joba or Hughes so we can have a rotation of CC, AJ, Roy, Andy, & Hughes with Aceves LR, Bruney & Coke MR, Joba SU, Mo CL . That's pretty nasty but I know unrealistic. If we give up what TOR wants than they have to win the world series because we're going to be screwed in a couple of years if we don't.

I wonder if Cliff Lee would come cheaper. Dude is good, he just gets no run support at all in cleveland.

I got a question, what's going on with Ben Sheets? I don't think anyone signed him. Is he still injured or something?

Id trade any prospects other then Jackson or Montero. but with limitation. Joba or Hughes can be in it, but not both. Wang can be in it instead of either of previous 2 mentioned, and id take on rios or wells contract. then they could have 1 possible 2 B level prospects, 2 C level Prospects with

I'd trade Jackson way way way before I trade Joba or Hughes

Definitely, we still have no idea what Jackson will be at the next level. And it is still easier to find an OF'er than a top flight starter. Trading Joba or Hughes with a bunch of other prospects in a deal for Roy or anyone else would be a mistake IMO.

Even though I agree that OF'rs can be found more then Elite pitching... Keep in mind we have an extremely deep pool of pitching prospects, not so much with position players. Ive seen AJax play and the dude is just a beast. He is a faster version of Bernie Williams IMO. Not really someone i want to trade.

My proposal would be:

Joba Chamberlin, Zach McAllister, Austin Romine, Ivan Nova, Austin Krum, Eduardo Nunez

Thats 2 top tier Pitchers in Joba and Zach, a hot catching prospect in Romine, a RP prospect in Nova, and an OF and SS prospect in Krum and Nunez. All quality Players with a fair quantity. Which is a far superior haul then what the mets offered for Santana, more then what the A's got for Haren. But not as dumb as what the M's gave up for Bedard.

Keep in mind, you have potential...not talent. Joba could turn out to be a career 7th inning guy. Hughes could never develop that pitch to make him an effective starter that we all think he can be.

That's the reason why the Yanks are looking at Halladay. Roy is who he is.
