We won't need a 4th starter in the ADLS. If it were up to me I'd wait til the playoffs to make my decision. I'd see how Gaudin and Joba both pitch out of the bullpen and whoever is more effective between the 2 you start in the ALCS.

I'm not giving both Gaudin & Joba a spot in the DS.

I trust Joba. Out of the bullpen in the ALDS and start in ALCS if we get there. He's a little inconsistent, but he's our best option unless we go with CC on short rest or something.

You're right, I was forgetting about Robertson.

It is difficult right now, and I'm as strong a Joba supporter as anybody else. Going forward, we need to give him his chance. Should he struggle, having Gaudin and Aceves in long relief is solid backup. Besides, Joba is probably better than any #4 starter we'll see in the ALCS. Ervin Santana or Kazmir aren't going to be scaring anybody with their ERA over 5, and I don't think Boston can even find someone to pitch a game 4 right now.
