http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4764085Wow. Was a big Melky fan.
The Yankees have acquired Javier Vazquez from the Atlanta Braves for Melky Cabrera and Mike Dunn, sources told ESPN The Magazine senior writer Buster Olney.
In addition, the Braves are sending right-hander Boone Logan to the Yankees, sources said.

I was about to post this. Why are we getting Vazquez again? He was good last season, but he was trash when he was with us. I have no reason to believe that he'll have a good season here. Whatever though.

He had a tired arm in the 2nd half of his one Yankee season - from apparently too much abuse in Montreal. I like Melky, so I'm sorry to see him go.

LOL at the Braves. This gives me hope the Mets might be able to finish 2nd in the division. How do you trade a good pitcher like Vazquez and only get a 4th outfielder in return?
Now all the Yankees have to do is sign Sheets and they will have the best rotation in baseball. Andy would be the freaking 5th pitcher in the rotation.

Not Melky!!!! One of my favorite Yanks. I know they got Granderson, whos good. Wow Im not sure if I like the guys they got.
But Yankee are usually dead on with trades of young players.

Doubt it. If he was, we would've been had him. Hopefully we get him for Christmas like we did Tex, but I doubt it.
I wish we stop bullshitting and put Joba and Hughes in the rotation.

Living here in Atlanta, I get to go see melky play center field.. I am happy about that, and he will get a chance to play everyday and live in a really nice city, great weather and women... lol..
Vaz gets another chance in NY. I said he was traded prematurely... He is a good pitcher now, and looked great last year in Atlanta.. my friends who are braves fans are blowing up my phone.. they hate this trade... they all loved javier..

Well this leaves a little more of a hole in LF and the outfield in general. So something has to give with that. Damon? Holliday? Who knows. Not to mention, currently, who is our no. 2 hitter? We know Damon could fill that role, would Holliday?

I'm sure most have had mixed emotions about this deal but those who are on the fence should read this article a feel a little better about dealing Melky.

Vizcaino was apparently considered the Yankees 3rd best prospect (not sure if that is pitching prospect or overall prospect) according to Baseball America.

I'm not excited about getting a pitcher that stunk here, then had 1 good season, and all of a sudden I'm suppose to be thrilled about him. I love Melky. He usually came through in big spots. At least he got his ring before he left.
I really don't understand what we're doing with Hughes and Joba. Are we going to make one of them a permanent 8th inning guy or not? We have Burnett, CC, just bought back Andy, now we got Javier. We're also supposedly considering adding Ben Sheets. So that's 4 starters, possibly 5, with Hughes and Joba still in the bullpen.

Vazquez has had more than one good season including in the AL with Chicago.

Same can be said about NY? Except maybe the weather part...
The Yankees fleeced the Braves on this one. Javy is a innings eather that should be able to thrive as the Yankees #4 starter. Melky stinks IMO. Dude groundsout to 2nd base like every at bat..

Wow, Javy was the Braves #1 and now he becomes a #4 on the Yankees. C'mon now, any other team would love to have this pitcher. Some Yankee fans are way too damn spoiled.

I love Melky and will miss him, but this is a good trade. Got another arm for the bullpen as well. If we get Matt Holliday I will giggle like a little school girl while I blow bubbles in the snow. When I'm done blowing bubbles, I'll pull my penis out and try to pee while I'm running, leaving a yellow snow trail that looks like mustard on a fluff sandwich.
