I agree.

I have some high hopes that he's going to become a solid pitcher for us for years to come.

Early during the game but Dan is already starting off very poorly.

He wasn't looking sharp... against the Royals... His stuff was straight as an arrow.

I'm kind of disappointed that Dan Meyer got sent back down to Sacramento. His velocity was great, IMO. But he was clearly overthrowing, which could explain the high velocity. He showed a hard slider that is in the mid 80's, but it kept on bouncing in front of the plate, making it easy for the KC hitters to lay off. I didn't see much of a changeup....maybe once. But it is clear that he needs to just relax and have better fastball location. Lastly, he MUST mix in his off-speed stuff a whole lot more than he did in his last start.

Overall, I thought he was overthrowing and he just needs to relax. Now that he got his A's debut out of the way, I'm sure we'll see what Dan Meyer is really made of. His stuff reminds me of Mark Mulder, w/ the tight slider and his release of the fastball. I hope Dan Meyer will be back up in Oakland pretty soon.

His fastball was straight .... ---------------------------------------

Van Poppelish even. He needs to get more movement on his 4 seamer or he'll be our best AAA pitcher.

Yes, it was very straight. But I think that was more of him overthrowing more than anything. I think he'll get it together.
