Beane's strategy is no sure thing

Basically covers the past and present trades Billy has made.
It's no secret that A's general manager Billy Beane could sell snow in Siberia.
This is the man who trades players -- hello Nick Swisher and Dan Haren -- and has them calling him a genius as they walk out the door.
Beane is to persuasion what Al Davis is to confrontation.
So on Friday when Beane tried to sell the merits of his unfolding plan to blow up the A's and rebuild, I wasn't shocked that I bought many of his arguments.
The A's depleted farm system needed a massive infusion of talent, prospects who could develop into a new "foundation" for the franchise, Beane contended.
