Playoff roster

Post#1 » by RIPskaterdude » Tue Sep 25, 2012 6:58 am

So we're in, but we're not sure where we're going to start or who it's going to be. Most likely (and hopefully), we'll be playing against the Reds. I really really don't want to play against the Nats. So what's your roster look like?

I'll be at the game tomorrow, so let's see if Timmy is still good to go.

Gonna be a tough call between Zito and Vogelsong. Vogelsong was good in his last outing but had 7 bad games previous to that (and the last game was against the Padres). Zito has been really solid lately, I would have to go with Zito. So Cain, Bumgarner, Lincecum, Zito. I would also include Arias for speed. In the pen I don't want to see any part of scrubs like Penny and Otero or volatile guys like Hensley. The big question is who is going to catch Lincecum?

I don't like the fact that we don't seem to care about the regular season anymore. I hope it doesn't ruin our momentum.

Yeah, I'm a little worried about that too. I understand why Bochy wanted to give all the guys a day off after winning the pennant, but still, it is a disruption at the worst time. And they had a scheduled day off 2 days after they clinched anyway. They had won something like 10 out of 11 games I think, and now 2 losses in a row, I just hope it doesn't become a trend heading into the playoffs. A team like this needs to be on a roll, because we've seen them when they're slumping and it's not pretty. "That" Giants team isn't winning any playoff series. Need a solid effort from Cain tonight to get everyone back on the plan.

We always suck against the Diamondbacks, so it honestly wouldn't surprise me if Cain's game tonight is the only one we win this series.

Would anyone here include Melky?

No. Yes if the suspension ended this week, but since we would already been in the NLCS without him (if we made it), no. Maybe in the World Series as a DH but....no.

Really worried about our pitching heading into the playoffs right now, if this keeps up we'll get swept by the Reds easily.

I agree .. Not too worried about Cain&Bummy though

We gotta hope Tim miraculously finds his all-star form back, but I wouldn't put money on that :-? :(

Damn I miss that Tim ..

If we win tonight, we knock the Dodgers out of the playoffs.

I LOVE SCOOTER.

2 - 2 in the 8th.

And that's why Casilla was taken away from closing.

Our pitching really worries me. I think if our pitchers are at their best, we go all the way. I would agree with Zito over Vogelsong. Melky isn't going to be on the roster (they already said that) and I wouldn't put him on there anyways. Nady has been doing well in lf, so that helps.
Should we bring back Huff and the rally thong?

Huff will make the team, easily. We need more L hitters off the bench, and when he's on, he's one of the best on the team.
