Messing up our draft position

Post#1 » by Hopper15 » Wed Aug 29, 2007 3:05 am

It's nice to win 11 of 13, but we had a top 3 pick projected two weeks ago. I think I would rather have kept the draft position, even though Sabean would take the most signable pitcher available anyhow.

Suck and draft or Win meaningless games?

Edit: If the season were to end today, we'd pick 11th. When I looked two weeks ago we were slotted for 3rd.

Yeah I've also noticed we're screwing up a possible top 5 pick for next year.

Somebody ought to tell the players. I doubt very much that they are concerned with our wishes or future draft picks. They're trying to win games and show they deserve to be on the team and in it's plans for next year.

You guys do make a good point though. I respect that. I'm torn between both sides myself. It's just nice to get a win especially when these young guys pitch their heart out. Hopefully, these wins won't be totally meaningless. Maybe the confidence our young Aces gain will carry over to next year.

At the end of the year I can say 'I wish we had lost a few more games'. But during the season there's no way I can root against these guys. Especially with how the young guys have pitched.

Last I checked the Giants offense is still pretty lousy so opposing teams still have a chance to win.

Ah, you better check a little closer. Giants are 15-8 during the last 3 1/2 weeks. If they would have had that kind of winning % all season, they'd a run away with this division.

^^^Then go to the players and coaches board :peace:

With yet another blown save by Hennessey and the bullpen, we're currently looking at 8th or 9th.

I think these games are important for the young players and the veternan's trying to stay on the team or improve there free agency status.Besides it helps ending the year with momentum we can carry in to next season.

Getting some run support for the future would do them even better...keep tanking, Boch.

Right now, Giants have the sixth pick. Hopefully they pick a power hitter this time around.
