I would go:

Bumgarner (Could go with 3 man roster and Bumgarner goes in the bullpen. Either way, he makes the team for me. Zito doesn't pitch as a starter. I know he's a vet, so he should be on the team, but not starting.)

Ford, Velez, Whiteside, and Guillen are the big omissions. I want all three on the team, Guillen for his veteran experience and bat, Ford for his speed, and Whiteside cause he's a catcher. We could go with an 11 man staff, and add in Whiteside. But then, the team would have NO base-stealing ablilities. One of Zito/Ray/Casilla/Bumgarner may not make the team. Ehh...

I don't think either Zito or Rowand should be on the team. Zito would be no good as a reliever, and Rowand plan stinks. Torres and Ross can play CF.

I'd replace Rowand and Zito with Guillen and Whiteside.

I honestly think Rowand would be better to have than Guillen. I'm as big a Rowand hater as anyone, but we signed him for his veteran presence. He will sacrifice his body for a win, Guillen may not. Plus, he's one of the few guys on this team that's won a WS. I have no problem with replacing Whiteside with Zito though. I just feel weird that the highest paid player on the team is too shtty to play once we finally make the playoffs.

While Guillen can get hot, and his potential to hit the ball is greater than Rowand's, Rowand will get the spot cause of his contract. Same with Zito. Schierholtz is the only other OF with a chance to not make the team, but I don't see that happening. He's our best fielding outfielder.

There's no way Guillen won't make the 25 man roster. No way. There's a reason why he's been playing everyday when it counts (even though he shouldn't have been), BB loves the guy.

this looks good, but i would add whiteside for zito and just go with 11 pitchers. our money is made on our starting pitching, if they falter we won't win anyways. i'm torn on ishikawa. i love his 1b glove, but part of me wonders if velez would be better because of positional versatility? (not that he's good at any of them).

Can't see Rowand making the team at this point. Guillen and Ross have been playing a lot more.

Is Renteria healthy enough? If not, he's out for this series.

Fontenot has only played 13 games at SS in his career, but I'm sure he could fill in if Uribe goes down for some reason.

You better believe I wouldn't mind if Rent was left off the roster.

After doing some more thinking, I must say, I don't really want Rowand on the team. Zito I really don't want. F*ck them and their contracts. And I wouldn't mind too much either if Rent doesn't make the squad cause of injury.

I don't know if I'm gonna cry out of sadness or laughter if our three richest players are too awful to make the postseason team.

i'm advocating for rent and rowand. i don't want fontenot in a tense playoff game to try to remember his footwork at SS. i also think that rowand is at least adequate defense in CF with the potential for power. guillen is potential for power with nothing else.

Well, BB said that Rowand will definitely be on the roster, but he hasn't released it yet. What's the deal with the wait? Haven't the Braves already released theirs?

Rowand I can live with as long as he never starts.

Zito is a dealbreaker.

I think they picked Rowand for the 25 because he has really good averages against the Braves SP; that and his HR against the Pads didn't hurt.

I wonder when they will release the rest? Boo.

Woohoo! I was genuinely expecting bighead start Zeet it game three, or something equally stupid. There's still time I guess.
