WS GAME 3: VOGEL-STRONG!

Post#1 » by RIPskaterdude » Sat Oct 27, 2012 6:47 pm

This is a HUGE game for us, but probably do or die for the Tigers. Being down 3-0 would be pretty hard to make up. But if we lose today, then the pressure will be on us to win tomorrow, since JV is pitching game 5. Personally, I would LOVE to finish this up in Game 6 in SF for the fans, but let's just take the fun out of it and win 2 straight in Detroit, yeah?

Curious to see how Detroit comes out, hard to keep those bats quiet forever and you know they'll be aggressive. Honestly I won't be shocked if they're up 5-0 in the first inning or something and Sanchez is a quality pitcher with good numbers, especially against Posey and Sandoval.

But, the Giants have been defying what would be likely to happen the whole postseason, so we'll see. I really don't know what to expect, but I have to think Posey & Pence have to give us something to win some games here. One factor today might be the wind, they said it was 11 mph, that could knock a lot of balls down or carry them out depending on which way it's blowing. Cold air should keep the balls from jumping a little bit, forecast is for around 39°, but that could also affect grip & release for pitchers, and the Giants rely on their control.

Random prediction: 4-2 Detroit.

Tigers are already working the count against us like we did against them in game 1 and 2....

Yep. Vogelsong throwing way too many pitches, even if he gets out of the inning.

I know these are dangerous hitters, but Vogelsong's gonna have to throw some strikes tonight if he wants to last more than a few innings.

It's a good thing that Fielder is so fat and slow, doubt we make a DP on that with anyone else running.

I'm not even sure we did make that play, Belt had to take his foot off the bag to get the throw, then he kind of reached back with his toe, but I'm not sure it hit the bag. I don't think it did.

Wow, what could be better than walking Pence to lead off an inning? Why would Sanchez do that? That's crazy.
