Giants acquire LHP Will Smith

The San Francisco Giants bolstered their bullpen on Monday, adding left-hander Will Smith from the Milwaukee Brewers, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

Milwaukee will receive pitcher Phil Bickford and catcher Andrew Susac in return for the 27-year-old Smith, who is 1-3 with a 3.68 ERA in 27 appearances this season.

Seems like it cost more for Smith than a closer like Melancon. LOOGY was a need, but Smith has been better against RHB than LHB the last 2 seasons. Puzzling.
