Cain 1 win headed to May

Post#1 » by mt dew » Sun Apr 29, 2007 4:04 am

Thanks to Jack Taschner, who blows Saturday's game against Arizona by giving up 3 runs in a third of an inning after Cain held them to 1 run through the first 6 innings. Cain hadn't even thrown 100 pitches but I guess since he was leading off the 7th he was pulled. Brilliant strategy.

Yeah.

No idea why Cain was pulled, he had at least another inning in him. Why were we so concerned that he was leading off the inning when we were up 4 to 1?

Another super performance that ended up short of a win and a tough workout for Cain. The bullpen is actually pretty good, i think, but they are going through a bad spell of tough breaks mixed with bad luck. That doesn't help Matt out but these guys are gamers, hopefully, these won't and can't continue.

He was pulled because they don't want to send him to the DL because of his high pitch counts. His previous outings he was creeping into 120+ pitches.
