Molina is hitting cleanup but we're going to suck no doubt.
This year I'm only looking forward to how Lincecum, Cain, Brian Wilson, Dan Ortmeier and Kevin Frandsen develop. The rest of team I could care less about.

Who cares? We know the Giants aren't contenders this year.

Thanks for posting Zips, BBJ.
I forgot about them. Durham might outperform that but the rest seems like reasonable projections. I also think Rowand will hit a lower BA/OBP split but maybe a tad higher SLG.

UPDATE: Messenger will not make the team out of ST as he will be optioned to AAA Fresno(no more options after that) and Williamson has been released.

1. Zito, Cain, Lincecum, and Lowry to have ERA's under 4.00 and continue to develop.
2. Youngsters like Scherholtz, Ortmeier, and Lewis get more AB's then Aurilia, Roberts, and Wynn.
3. Someone step up, hopefully Wilson, to be at least a serviceable closer.
If those three things happen, I'd consider it a successful season given the circumstances (i.e. Sabean). Oh and fire Sabean would be my 4th wish.

So far in the spring, I think Velez and Lewis have earned the right to start. Will they? Of course not. Spring training numbers really don't mean all that much
but you can't help but take notice of what Velez and Lewis have done. I would like to see:
3B - Velez
LF - Lewis
RF - Winn
C - Molina
CF - Rowand
2B - Durham (could Frandsen have choked any bigger?)
1B - Ortmier (Would anyone be shocked to see Aurilla start at 1B?)
SS - Visquel / Bocock
Of course I'll bet we will trade Lewis for a 3B (Inge or Crede) and send Velez to AAA.
Therefore, I'm going to say 2008 Giants: 55 - 107. At least we should be in good shape to get the #1 pick in 2009!

This team is bad, but it won't lose 100.

It will take nothing short of a miracle for the Giants not to lose100 games and have the worst record in baseball in 2008.

The starters are too good to be a 100 loss team.

Doesn't matter how good the starters are if the team cant hit or field. 105 loses.

There are just too many awful teams in the NL for any one of them to lose 100 games.
Nats, Cards, Marlins, Astros, Pirates, Padres, these are all like 75 win teams. The Giants are probably the worst, but 100 losses is really hard to do, especially in the NL West.
105 losses is basically impossible.

Anyone still think this team wont loose 100 games this year?
With the number 1 pick in the 2009 draft, the San Francisco Giants select.....
Is there a worse manager in the game than BB?
