Congratulations to the winner of the Ford Frick Award.

I can scarcely think of a more deserving Hall of Famer. Niehaus practically provided the soundtrack to my childhood. My oh my!

Finally! I love the man, and I have no idea why it took so damn long to give him his due. How many of us grew up listening to, and enjoying the game, with this man telling us the story of what was happening on the field like you were sitting on your grandpa's lap?

Some announcers annoy me to tears with their faux-Rizzsian glee, and some announcers just embody what the game is about.

Isn't he the first person to basically go into the Hall as a Mariner? If so, I can't think of a more deserving person...there's no better icon for the first two decades of this franchise than Niehaus.

Well deserved. I've been listening to him as long as I can remember and I've enjoyed most every minute of it.

Wow! First I heard of it. Good news.
