Yeah, nice win and nice game. The lineup shuffle seems to be paying off...it certainly makes sense to me to have Beltre higher in the order with the way he and Lopez are hitting right now.

I saw a graphic indicating the M's SP have the lowest collective ERA in the majors? Hmm...

If the M's can finish this series with a win today, I'll be happy with a 5-5 record heading into the series with the Angels.

Corcoran has been a very pleasant surprise so far.

At least Potatoes stayed true to form. 3 runs in a third of an inning.

How long until the team demotes EOF to AAA and calls Rhodes up? Not saying I'm championing that move...it just seems likely...

Wasn't O'Flaraty (SP) one of our best relievers last year? What happened to him? He's making the decision of who to send down much easier. :x

Yeah but.... is Rhodes the answer or should we look out of the organization?

I like EOF and want him to get the chance to work through his struggles. I also believe Arthur Rhodes is done. Which means calling up Rhodes is about as creative as I expect this organization to get...

I don't think we really need to look outside the organization to fix any bullpen woes, as EOF has the talent to get back on track, and really...they should be able to pull any lefty in to fill that second lefty out of the pen role.

Paging Jason Davis! John Parrish, come on down!

When I think of it that way, it might as well be Rhodes.

There's exactly one person in that group -- O'Flaherty -- who has been an effective lefty reliever at the big league level within the last three years, and that's who I think would be the best hope.

I'd send O'Flaherty down to the minors until he gets his stuff together. Who says we need multiple lefties? That righty/lefty matchup thing is the most over-rated aspect of baseball. I'm fine with RRS and having Morrow up here for a bit.

Not much to say about that finale, really. Dude dominated us and you could smell a loss coming in the 3rd inning. Props to Batista for pitching so well and O'Flaherty is a bitch for hurting Miggy's ERA.

Don't know why you say that... platoon splits are real. The M's other middle relievers, Green and Lowe, do significantly worse against lefty batters than against righty batters. If there's a high-leverage situation with an opposing left-handed hitter, I don't want those guys out there.
