Seattle is in an interesting position. Outside of the '07 team that won 88 games, Felix has only known losing here. And to be quite honest, I don't see us turning the tide anytime soon. So really, it comes down to: when is Felix a FA? And would he resign with us, or would he bolt for a contender as soon as possible?

If it's understood that we won't be players in Felix's impending free agency (whenever that is), and we have an opportunity to get two really good arms and a solid bat or two... I mean, don't you have to agree to a trade like that?

If Felix wants to stay a Mariner, obviously that's another argument in and of itself. But our track record is not good with retaining these Hall of Famer-types.

The reasoning behind it is quite sound. Since Bay and Lester are natives of the Pacific Northwest, trading them back here makes a ton of sense...

That article is the kind of rote crap we see on these boards everyday by some pinhead in his mother's basement who thinks he knows how to make his team better. And in this case, his team = Seattle, not Boston. I'm now dumber for having read that article...

If the M's are afraid they can't re-sign Felix, and then trade him...we take on Bay [who apparently wants a contract extension] and magically extend Bedard?

Bull****.

That same author also wrote an article saying Seahawks fans want to see Larry Johnson released and signed by Seattle. Really? And another article saying the Seahawks "own" the NFC West? And another article saying "a lot" of people have the Seahawks selecting Colt McCoy next year?

Who? Ever hear of references?

9/10 of the people on this board write better articles/thoughts than that.

Bleacher Report is such a worthless Web site. It basically takes message board opinions and formats them to look like news articles. This is why people hate blogs so much, as well they should.

It does, however, show our disturbing tendency for falling in love with locally produced talent.
