Boston (21-14) @ Seattle (16-19)

Post#1 » by TTown » Fri May 15, 2009 11:14 pm

Jakubauskas vs. Lester tonight. Lester gave up 8 runs last Saturday and his ERA has ballooned over 6. Unfortunately for the M's, Jaku gave up 9 runs his last outing, and is hovering in the 7.3 range.

Kevin Youklis is on the DL for Boston, and Ortiz hasn't been able to hit off a tee lately.

Ichiro hits his second HR of the night, this time a two-run shot to go ahead 5-4. Great rally. They chase Lester, now it's up to our 'pen to hold on.

A great performance from the bullpen considering what happened in the last couple of games.

That last fly-out scared the hell out of me.

Hell yes. It bugs me when I hear so many cheers for Boston/New Year in Safeco. Glad the home team could shut up the bandwagoners.

well, i think seattle had a very good pitching series vs. the red sox, specially the bullpen.

Came into the series dead in the water and ended up taking 2 of 3 from Boston. Crazy game, this.

Outside of that ungodly contract, was there any reason Silva should have been pitching over Vargas...? Kid's got some good stuff. The 'pen was good today. Clutch hitting late.

Vargas has also been really lucky...he's putting men on base, and can't expect to load bases and come out unscathed very often.

Thank God we sent those new jersey wearing, "Youk" chanting, beer swilling frat boy and sorority girl bandwagon fans back to whatever hellmouth they spawned from for another year with the taste of defeat in their mouths.
