Our little girl offense put up two hits against Rich Hill tonight, who had an ERA over 6 before the game started. Wasted a great Jarrod Washburn outing. We lose 1-0.

The worst offense in the AL looked pretty damn awful, even by worst-offense-in-the-AL standards.

The offense is pretty inept and the run production shows it. The DHs are hitting about a combined 220 and guys like Betancourt and Beltre cant get guys in from 3rd (mainly Ichiro).

Watching Adam Jones, as well as Raul with the Phillies it makes one wonder if there is little differance between the old administration and the new one.

I'd move both Beltre and Betancourt by the trade deadline and give up on the Griffey/Sweeney experiment. Bring up Clement and Saunders and get them in the lineup. Trade Bedard and Washburn while they're at it.

Watching Adam Jones, as well as Raul with the Phillies it makes one wonder if there is little differance between the old administration and the new one.

Jones = old administration. Clearly a terrible trade, one of the reasons Bavasi was fired.

Ibanez = new administration, but no regrets. To sign Ibanez to anything along the lines of what he received from the Phillies would have been insane. I'm glad for him to be having this career year at age 37, but the M's weren't in the market for a reliable .290/.350/.480 guy who was a defensive liability in left and wanted upwards of $30 million for 3 years. Wasn't gonna happen, wouldn't have made any sense for a non-contending team that needed to (1) get younger and (2) do more to help their flyball pitchers. Don't forget, the M's also got a first-round pick and a sandwich pick out of it.

I just looked Ibanez up to confirm his age. Turns out today is his birthday. Huh.

I guess my only problem with the Ibanez logic is they might have actually contended with him on the team. If they are indeed rebuilding then let's get rid of guys like Beltre, Batista and Washburn. While we're at it dump Griffey and Sweeney and give guys like Saunders and Clement a chance.

Well, we win the series against Baltimore. We've actually won 3 of the last 4 series, a nice rebound after what I thought was full-blown tank mode at the beginning of the month. Ich has hit in a million games in a row, and he's at .355 or something ridiculous like that.

Off day tomorrow then three at home against the Twins -- Felix, Wash, and Bedard on the hill.

Nice series win. Hell, Seattle could have easily swept the last two series. I'll take the wins though.

I <3 Russell Branyan. He didn't have a hit last game, but man, he has just been killin the ball. I'm more surprised at how well he's done against lefties. Great power though and he's had fairly good discipline at the dish.

Ichiro is amazing and Jason Vargas is a beast. It's nice to have some pretty good starting pitching again.
