Felix, League are All Stars

Post#1 » by TTown » Sun Jul 3, 2011 8:32 pm

Felix isn't an All Star in the year he wins a Cy Young, but he is an All Star in a year where he's probably pitched like the 4th best starter on his team (albeit on a very, very good staff).

I'm not 'surprised' Pineda wasn't selected because voters can be fickle, but he deserves to be. Could be a replacement.

No Ichiro. Not that he deserved a nod, mind you.

Just saw something about how Felix has to be replaced because he's scheduled to start on the Sunday before the game. Maybe Pineda can get in that way. Looks like James Shields will also have that problem, so 2 replacements needed.

Right now I can only think of 2 guys who are having as good a year as Pineda: Dan Haren and CC Sabathia. Sabathia apparantly also has a Sunday start so maybe that leaves Haren and Pineda to get in.

Pineda deserves it more than Felix.

Really glad League got recognized. If you lead the league in saves, you should be an all-star.

He deserved to be there about as much as Jeter does.
