So begins our 162 game winning streak.

Always nice to win on opening day.

Would've liked those runs earlier, but I'll take that. Bedard's just readying himself, no worries. So many walks from the M's today, good to see patience pay off.

Are we keeping this thread for tomorrow as well?

Dunno if it was an overwhleming performace, but it was definitely more than adequate. As someone said earlier, can't wait to see him when he's on.

Both starters seemed to be agitated by the strike zone today, so it'll be interesting to see his next start...

I really hope McLaren keeps Lopez hitting out of the two hole this season.

well, i think bedard did a pretty good job keeping the M's one run away and i don't know, but maybe to BBJs surprise the bullpen did a pretty good job to make the M's win.

is jj putz a god?

can't wait to see how felix does today and continue hiw recent ownage of the rangers.

Bedard pitched very well and kept us in the ballgame even though his command wasn't as sharp (1st game) but he wasn't missing by much. Some of the calls could've gone either way which made his pitch count go up. But he only gave up just 1 run and 3 hits in 5 innings even though he had no run support up to that point and kept his composure for the most part. He knows how to pitch.

Successful outing by Bedard.

Can't wait to see Felix tonight and Bedard on Sunday vs his former team.

Man I wish we can get Tex in the offseason!!!

If Bavasi can accomplish that and sign Bedard to an extension, I will forgive him of all his other crappy trades he made before (Soriano for Ramirez...Cabrera for Perez).

Get it done Bavasi!!!

I like our bullpen. Maybe not as much as last season w/ Sherrill now gone, but its still pretty damn good, and the main thing is, the pitchers are all young.

I'm a big fan of Mark Lowe. I think he can be a beast out of the pen and our eventual set-up man leading into Putz. As mentioned above, O'Flaherty was lights out last season until hitting a wall, but he has really good stuff, against both righties and lefties as well.

Green is decent, but is probably our best long-relief (3-4 innings) guy. Baek...I dont know, dont really care for him, and Rowand-Smith is still an unknown. Not even sure if he's with the big league club actually, haha.

I'm not worried about the Pen though. If we could add a legit bat, I'd be extremely pumped about the team.

Can't top the M's at the top of the rotation. We win again with Felix. I'll go a repeat of last night: M's 5 Rangers 2

Felix has pitched himself into, and out of, quite a few jams tonight. I'm impressed with his defensive display tonight...I mean, what the hell?

Our offense is so **** pathetic. Seriously, the only guys I have confidence in at the plate are Ichiro and Johjima. Everyone else sucks and/or doesn't give me much confidence at all. Ibanez in the second half, but thats it.

DIDNT SEXSON HIT 200 LAST YEAR!? WHY IS HE STILL OUR #4 HITTER!?

God this offense sucks. I'd take the Giants offense over this pile of crap. And Vidro? Seriously, why is this guy our DH? Throw Clement in that role for crying out loud.

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

You know, I feel bad for JJ, but to be honest, guys, I'm glad we lost this game. I wasn't even happy when we scored the lead run on the pass ball. Sure, it was nice, but when your offense can only score runs against a horrible pitching staff by their defense messing up over and over again, you just lose a lot of excitement for your club.

Once again, why is Sexson hitting 4th? Is our idiotic coach trying to instill some confidence in him? He's up there with the bases loaded (?) and 1 out and he strikes out for the third time in the game on a pitch that was nowhere near the strike zone.

Is this the last year of his contract? Christ just cut him right now.

Ugh.

Betancourt is a balla though.

as a rangers fan im 2 games into the season and im ready to have a heart attack, good game tonight, i guess

i thought both nights our defense has given you the games (thats how your rally got started last night) and tonight just about killed me until josh hamilton saved the day

why is morrow in the minors? and is bbj a mariners fan (closet?)

i like your pitching (especially your starting rotation, i think silvas a good fit for your park) but i dont think your offense will be enough to win the division. do u guys have the pieces to trade for a big bat?
