Byrnes has been released, Tui optioned down to Tacoma, Langerhans and Josh Wilson are coming up. An OregonLive article strongly hints that Sweeney's days are numbered, too.

Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease.
And it's time to take Old Yeller Griffey out behind the woodshed, too. Seriously, we can all marvel at what a great defensive team GMZ has put together, but the team is destined for last place if the DH platoon continues at a combined OPS in the 500 range.

It's a start...but the DH situation is still a joke. Even if they put Bradley at DH and see what happens, they still have two pinch-hit only guys on the bench taking up space. The bullpen needs to contract and one of Sweeney and Griffey [both just isn't realistic] need to go.
Oh, and if the Pirates would deal Ryan Doumit to us, that would be awesome.

Jose Lopez needs to go... I can't watch him at the plate anymore.

These changes don't really do much at all to improve the offense.
Bench Griffey, cut Sweeney. Package Lopez + whoever the hell else for a decent bat.

Jose Lopez is quickly getting in to the Yuniesky Betancourt area for me. I have to feel that they tried to move him this offseason but no one was dumb enough to give up anything for him... Hopefully the Royals feel they need one more mariner to add to their roster soon.

At 27 years old and making about 3m per he would seem to be attractive to other teams, and he can play a couple of positions. I think they are dangerously close to rebuilding mode so him and Cliff Lee are the two names i expect to hear at the trade deadline.
