M's shock world, win 2 game series against Detroit

Post#1 » by TTown » Wed May 26, 2010 11:02 pm

5-3 and 5-4. 10 runs in 2 days, no joke. Fister pitched very well Tuesday, but was once again screwed out of a win. Vargas labored today, but kept the M's in it. RRS tried to lose it out of the 'pen, but League stepped up and pitched well. Aardsma with a pair of saves.

18-28. Here's to hitting 20 wins before 30 losses? Gonna have to take a series @ LAA.

Jesus Hell is Mike Sweeney roided up this season? Dude has been kililng the ball lately and has his average up over 300.

Great comeback win though. Felt good.

And both games were actually fun to watch for a change!

I think playing Sweeney at 1B is just asking for trouble, but as good as Kotchman is defensively his offense is just lousy. Part of it may be bad luck, but Sweeney's getting results for the time being.

The team has a great chance to get back into the AL West race with games coming up against division opponents. It's basically now or never. If Texas takes the series, and the M's fall 10 games or so back...that's the season.
