Fister (3-3, 2.81) vs. Scherzer (4-6, 5.26) today.

Bedard threw 4.1 innings for Tacoma yesterday. 1 unearned run, 3 singles.

I missed the first two games of the series, which seems like a good thing since we got spanked around.

Nice job by Lee yesterday though. Man, I never knew how good of control the dude had until he started pitching for us. Oh, and Branyan rocks.

Unless we're blown away by a deal, I now advocate to keep Lee, watch him win a Cy Young for us, then just use the 2 first round picks we'd get as compensation when he leaves. Guy is amazing to watch pitch.

Yeah, I definitely don't want to get rid of Lee just for the sake of making a deal.

But; If we are getting a proven bat in return and/or a handful of really good minor league talent, we have to do it. Our offense is still so pathetic, so any chance to upgrade must be taken.

Personally, I don't think first round picks are worth all that much, especially when the odds would be decent that the compensatory picks would be relatively low if certain teams sign Lee.

If we begin next season without Lee, and two late first rounders, I think we are primed for another season of disappointment. This team doesn't look to have a ton of payroll flexibility next year due to prior commitments and declining financial revenue...the team needs to move Lee to add pieces that may be able to contribute in the not-so-distant future.
