6 days until the deadline

I haven't heard a thing concerning Lopez, Aardsma, Branyan, League, Kotchman. While it's completely possible that none of these guys warrant discussion alongside Lilly, Haren, Fielder, etc., you'd think there would be some buzz. Anyone heard anything?

I dont think because there isnt a lot of buzz around Seattle players that means there arent discussions about these and others. To me Kotchman and Branyon arent going to have much value but Lopez and the relievers should. Ideally for me they move Figgins and keep the rest but they'd have to eat some serious money there.

I don't know if I want the team to move anyone at this point. Everyone either has continuing value to the team (Lopez, Branyan) or is at a low value right now (League, Kotchman and especially Figgins). The only one who might still be worth something despite pitching poorly thus far is Aardsma, as teams still pay a premium for experienced closers (for whatever reason).

Blow it up. Trade Ichiro + whatever else it takes to the Giants for Buster Posey, aka, the future best player in baseball.
Nice game by RRS last night.

French was scratched from his start yesterday in Tacoma. Don't know if it means anything.

French is probably on his way to the midwest to replace hyphen Smith.
As for trading whatever for Buster Posey does anyone think the Giants are that stupid?

Kinsler just went on the DL for a Rangers team that seems to like to deal for stopgaps. Wonder if they would have any interest in a Lopez'Kotchman tandem [or maybe just Lopez]? Cantu's a decent hitter but he's also a clod defensively, and Lopez would give them a 2B stopgap.

Texas has the deepest farm in the game, I'd love to raid a little bit more of it.

Supposedly the M's offered Lopez and Aardsma to San Francisco for Sandoval. And then when the Giants stopped laughing, the M's continued shopping.

Interesting. I know nothing of Sandoval's contract or how that would potentially play into things, but I have a bunch of diehard Giant fans and they bitch about Pablo like M's fans do about Jose. He seems like he's the club whipping boy down there.

Well, it looks like nothing happened for the M's. Still, I would think the pieces we were trying to deal could be traded in post-deadline deals.

Geoff Barker (Seattle Times) says Atlanta approached Seattle about Figgin's availability and were told he's not available.

Well, that was disappointed. With no trades made, Smoak sent down, and the offense becoming even less effective than it already was...there's no reason to watch any of the games any more. It's awful baseball, and while it might be worth it in the long run if we get a healthy Rendon out of it...for now, it's

Other sources say the M's approached the Braves, so who knows. Plus Geoff Baker is a asshat who loves to create news and rile people up. Gotta sell newspapers somehow...

The Sweene Dog is traded to Philly for a PTNBL or cash.
Maybe he can win a ring with the Phils. Though if he's ready to come off the DL in order to replace Howard, I expect him to head right back when trying to field.
