one year non-guaranteed contract. wish him the best, but at this point should there just be a pool going to see how far he can go before he gets injured again.

I was for this, though I expect nothing. Kind of like putting money down on a single number at the roulette table.

I think it is a good signing, especially given the cost. Bedard seems to know the stakes here.
"I was offered twice as much money last year to sign somewhere else, and I got offered a guaranteed deal this year by another team," Bedard said from his Ottawa home. "I said, 'Ooh that’s interesting,' but I never pursued it. I told the Mariners before I went home last season, I wanted to come back.
"This may surprise some people, but I'm loyal. I want Seattle fans to see the guy they thought they'd traded for. There have been moments I've been myself, but they didn't last long."

at least he has some character. Loyalty is a rarity in this day and age. That said, stay on the f'n field first please. Please?

Well, at least he seems to have the attitude to prove that he is worth the trouble. Lets hope so.
