Chicago (11-21) @ Seattle (15-17)
Humber (2-3, 3.06) vs Hernandez (3-2, 3.21)
Floyd (3-2, 4.39) vs Fister (2-3, 2.70)
Buehrle (2-3, 4.37) vs Bedard (1-4, 5.23)
Chicago starters dont seem to have terrible ERA's. Is there offense and/or bullpen just that bad? Anyways; A series win is a must right here. I'd like a sweep, but dont want to get too greedy.

I am greedy. Sweep time. Let's get to 18-17 right here and right now. I can't believe we have a real chance to get over .500. A few weeks ago I thought we might never have such a chance again this year. Our pitching has been very good, even the bullpen of late. And Praise the Lord! Justin Smoak looks like the real deal. Not just the early numbers. His countenance at the plate.
Go M's.
Go M's.

YEAH, BABY! WOOOOO!!!! That one felt great! So happy that Felix got the win, especially.
I haven't been this excited about Mariners baseball in a long time.

That was just a very good baseball game to watch. Good pitching, good fielding, timely hitting, a walk off single to win it in the bottom of the 9th.
Now we need to give Fister more run support than Felix got tonight. Let's put up 5-6-7 runs tomorrow and get to .500. I'm also encouraged by what I'm seeing of Bedard of recent. Maybe he can pitch a gem for 7 innings on Sunday and see if we can't end this weekend at 18-17.
Go M's.

It was a good baseball game to watch because the M's are actually playing good baseball! I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop but they keep winning games.
Boy, how I wish we had one more decent bat in the outfield. Guti will help if he's healthy, but man it would be nice to have just a little more power in the lineup.

Watching Felix maul Ryan during the celebration was great.

Fister gets in some pretty wacky jams, but the kid is a magician. Seems to work himself out of them every time.

That was a pretty ugly game. Fister was getting hit all over the yard, and he got himself out of jams...when someone hit the ball right at a Mariner. He wasn't fooling anyone tonight. Was it just a bad game or has the scouting report on him for this season been updated a bit?
Still have a chance to take the series today...Go M's!

No kidding. I just read a blurb on twitter that says Mike Wilson is being called up and placed on the 40 man roster, which means someone is being booted off. Most of the M's blogosphere thinks Bradley might be the one to go.
If so...hard to disagree with that. Bradley's defense is lousy, he's not hitting, and he's constantly angry at something. He must be one hell of a challenging teammate to have.
You'd have to think the team could make a move to bring in some league average OF type without costing too much. Kind of wishing Laynce Nix had signed that contract we offered this offseason.

I'm tired of Bradley's throws from left winding up in the dugout. I'd boot him in a second.

When faced with the decision to get rid of either Langerhans or Bradley to make room, the M's decided to do both. Now we have Peguero and Wilson on the roster. Hard to call that an upgrade in LF by any stretch of the imagination, but it's worth a shot.

Hopefully, combined they could platoon and hit .206 with 2 HRs in six weeks. So... we likely won't lose much at the plate. If they don't embarrass themselves defensively, this might actually be an upgrade.
Big winner here is Saunders, who has yet to do anything even remotely of note but will continue to hold down a roster spot, even with Guti's return.

Not if one of the new call ups shows some ability at the plate. If they do, stick Saunders to the bench permanently.
Everytime Saunders comes up I say "and now here's the worst hitter in the history of the game". Seems about right this season.

I guess I'm operating from the mentality that since they're Mariner prospects they'll both fail in spectacular fashion, and even when he returns Guti won't be able to play everyday.
