League is a stud.

Our offense is still beyond pathetic. God, if we even just had a "decent" pitching staff, we'd be 20 games under. But if we also just had a "decent" offense, we'd be 20 over. Oh well.

Ackley finally fails to get on base in a game, whoooo.

Hope this is a sign Smoak is breaking out of the slump, we need this guy if we even want to have ANY offense.

Yeah look at the Giants. They have a stud filled pitching staff and an offense barely 20 runs better than ours, and they're 48-38. Cmon Jack Z hurry up and decide do we buy or sell, we need a bat ASAP if we're gonna contend this year.

By they way, anyone a bit dissapointed they sent Carp down instead of Peguero? Feels like Carp didn't get too many chances and Peguero has already shown he cant do it yet.

Apparently our FO is in love with Peguero's power. Dude probably has the highest percentage of swing and misses in the majors.

Pretty sure all of the posters here would have kept Carp up and sent Peguero down.

That was a "Mariner win" if I've ever seen one, a dominant Pineda performance + just enough offense to squeak by.

Bard's not lighting the world on fire, but he's better than Giminez. Big, big HR yesterday.

Felix vs. Cahill today. Both have dominant stuff but have been a mixed bag of inconsistency this year. Cahill started 6-1 with a 1.79 era over his first 10 starts, then gave up 22 runs in his next 26.2 innings. He dominated the Giants and Phillies, then couldn't get out of the 5th in his last start against Florida.

Ackley is the only thing we have going on offensively. Smoak shows up here and there but other than that, we're pathetic offensively. I just cant believe our FO isnt doing something against it. We have such a great pitching staff thats performing outstanding the whole season long and our FO leaves them hanging.

ugh League gives up the lead.

Are we gonna need Ackley to bail us out again, or is Peguero gonna have more luck.

Well, considering Peguero's inability to run in a straight line without falling on his butt cost us the lead, he's certainly due. What a frustrating play...Weeks is fast but that was a very shallow pop-up. I just don't understand what he's doing on an MLB roster.

And we take the lead back on...an Ichiro takeout slide at second? Baseball is the best sport in the world.

Nice win. I'm starting to heal again as an M's fan.

There's something about this team that whenever they get back to .500, or just above it, that they can't break through and seize first place, even when Texas (or now the Angels) are all but handing it to us. But I gotta hand it to them; they refuse to go gently into that good night.

We got ourselves some real telling series approaching just before and after the break. If there was EVER a time for our bats to come alive and give our starters some support, it's in the next two weeks or so.

We'll see.

Yep, the Angels are gonna come in pretty hot, and the Rangers follow. This pretty much determines are we sellers or buyers.

Anyway .500!!!!!!!!!!!

Ackley was so pissed off he didn't get on base yesterday he went out and smashed a ball beyond the center field wall.

Ackley has 3 HR in 14 games.

Smoak has 12 in 78 games. Olivo has 12 in 70 games. Peguero's got 6.

Ackley's not a traditional power hitter, but he makes such good contact and he drives the ball so well I think he can legitimately hit 20-25 in a full season. Not a masher, but line drive HRs count all the same. Fact or fiction: Ackley takes over the team lead in HRs by the end of the season?

Too soon to fall in love with Kyle Seager? 25/55 (.455) for Tacoma, though his splits are pretty wild: 23/44 against righties (.523), 2/11 (.182) against lefties.

Okay, maybe it is too soon. But he's certainly worth watching the rest of the season, and if the numbers look good by the end of the year...potential starter at 3B to start 2012? He'd certainly go a long way in validating the Hultzen pick, for those Rendon-lovers out there.

Pegeuero is so bad defensively. My God. Why is he even in the field in a game where Halman, Gutierrez, and Ichiro are playing? Geez.

Still a nice win. Ackley is, without a doubt, our best player. ALREADY.

Damn, I thought we were going to miss Haren next series but I forgot it's a 4-gamer with the Halos. Weaver, Santana, Pineiro, Haren.

Just a joy to watch Ackley play the game, he's so fundamentally sound. I get the same feeling as i did when Ichiro first came up and that's you see some new little thing every game you havent seen from him before.

Not sure what to do with the middle of that lineup. You have the top guys who can get on in Ichiro, Ryan and Kennedy then you hit the wall a bit with Smoak and then later with Olivo, Peguero and Guttierez. Sounds rediculous to say but if some of these guys cant hit above 240 i'm almost inclined to bat Dustin 4th.
