What do you guys think of King Felix this season? Breakout season?

Might as well just split this into its own topic...
I think Felix breaks out this year, and I'm not just saying that because I'm an M's fan or because I drafted him waaaaay too high in my fantasy league...
Felix ended last season very strong, and his overall numbers really weren't all that bad. The only number that really seemed disappointing was the ERA, a superficial stat which is partially influenced by an abnormal number of line drives that turned into home runs. I expect that number to regress back to the mean...
I think Felix is in a better position to understand exactly what is is expected of him now, and he probably benefitted from having some challenges last year that showed him he couldn't just show up and dominate MLB hitters like he could lower level competition.
He approached this season by getting into fantastic shape, having a dominant spring, and giving me no reason to believe he'll be nothing less than fantastic.
Felix is one of the few things I'm not worried about this year...he'll produce.

Good idea on this thread Sweezo. Yeah, I agree he is going to have a pretty good year....but the rest of the staff is unknown. I see a 18 win, mid 3 era 200 K season for Felix.

I know what you mean, but I'd actually be inclined to state it as the rest of the staff
is known.
Washburn and Batista are known quantities at this point who'll put many a man on base and hope to pitch out of it with pitches that don't get guys out without the help of a fielder, Ramirez will offer a dazzling mix of groundball outs and home runs while missing a few games due to frustrating injuries, while Weaver...well, Weaver just plain sucks.
I'm not worried about the offense this year. My concerns fall primarily on the #2-#5 starters. We need more than simple mediocrity...

I think he will break out after having an incredibly rough game 1.
I hope

Hernandez was incredibly hit-unlucky last season with a rather large BABIP and the second-best xFIP in the AL (behind Johan Santana). Given a regression towards the mean and an improved defense behind him, he should easily be able to put up an ERA in the mid-threes. Wins, however

He has already started.
8 innings only 3 hits 2 walks and 12 **** K's.
I dont think King will have a breakout season I think he will just dominate like he was suppose to. He has had time to adjust and has.

Well, here's hoping this is a start of a good season for King Felix. My fantasy teams already are appreciating him.

I hope for a breakout season cause id love to see the M's have a true power ace again. Im gonna need to see the kind in about 3-4 games to really get a feel for what he will be this season (sorry I get the no balls award).

Let's see how Felix does in his next start. The 12 K gem is very encouraging nonetheless.

I think he's supposed to start on May 4th or 5th. He threw 35 pitches yesterday and supposedly felt no pain.

He is suposed to start the 9th... but there is some talk that he might do some rehab starts in the minors, which would push that back.

I've missed Felix. ;_________;
But really, lets hope that the injuries dont become a reoccuring thing throughout the season.
