After taking the opening series against the A's, any hopes of building momentum early have been summarily dashed by five days and a ****load of snow. Thanks, Cleveland...

So now the M's get to travel to Boston and try to get back on track.

I would post the days and the pitching matchups but at this point the matchups seem all screwed up to me...different sites have different matchups.

yahoo seems to have the order the mariners had vs. the indians, with weaver tomorrow and on wendsday felix.

and if the order above is correct i think felix vs. matsusaka(sp) could be more entertaining and bostons bats could be a better meter for felix than the A's.

Ok, that means Felix will only have 1 start this week.

Well this is a great start for Weaver & the M's. 7-1 Boston going into the bottom of the third.

Great Job Weaver. I have yet to see a game becaus I was out of town, but it sounds like the new starters have sucked so far.

Yeah, luckily this isn't on TV. I am just checking the boxscore periodically to see how the Boston Massacre is going...the season doesn't really "feel" like it's started for me yet. I'm already looking forward to football season....yikes.

BTW, it's now 14-1, Boston, top of the 8th.

We have a good chance to win tomorrow though. OMg why are people trying to act tough. I dont see why they need to fight.

vidro continues his torrid start going 0-4 and upping his season average to .071 striking fear into opposing teams as he adds a dangerous bat to the heart of the m's order

Weaver.....might end up with the most losses in the AL. :nonono:

Oh wait...that last one isn't news at all. My apologies...

The guy signed, what, an $8-9 million contract? If the guys earn $1 million on his contract for every full point on his ERA this year, he'll be an improvement over today. Which is sad.

To be fair, he is doing a good job putting the ball in play with runners on base. Unfortunately, that just means an easy double play because his ass is made of lead.

Before he gets to that point he will be released, then he'll leave the AL West and latch on with some NL team and end up helping them win the World Series. Then, he will sign a short but lucrative deal in the offseason. I seem to think I've heard this story before...

Wow. Who EVER gave Bill Bavasi the idea that Jeff Weaver was still an MLB-caliber pitcher.

His agent must have some magic powers or something.

Well his agent is Scott Boras.

How long until Baek or Morrow are in the rotation.

haha its kind of funny that I am asking this after only seeing our new guys once each.

todays game should be more even. i hope felix comes out like last game and keep boston under his contol.

on the other side, the mariners offense will have to battle against matsuzakas debut in boston.

That would truly do it.

And I'd give it a month before Baek or Morrow are in the rotation. Although I really, REALLY don't see why Cha-Seung Baek is anything to write home about.

Nonetheless, he's better than Jeff Weaver.

The M's offense always seems to let down when they face a pitcher for the first time, regardless of the caliber of the pitcher. I'm seen them get owned by many a middle of the road rookie, so I imagine Dice-K will give them tremendous difficulty.

If it wasn't for Felix, I wouldn't think we have a shot...but he's the equalizer.
