Battle of the best offenses ever? Uhhh...maybe not.

Washburn's doing well again, but perhaps it's another case of a bad offense making him look better statistically than he really is. I'm curious to see how he does against an offense like the Yankees or the Red Sox right now.

As good as Washburn's pitching, it won't make much difference if the offense can't get to Vazquez pretty soon...

Washburn's next start is vs NYK so we will see soon enough. He won 18 games once, so hopefully he can get back to form.

The Agony: Raul Ibanez makes possibly the dumbes baserunning move anyone could make by trying to take second on a sac fly and getting thrown out a split second before a run crosses the plate.

The Ecstacy: Raul Ibanez hits a two run double in the 8th inning off Matt Thornton, handing Putz a three run lead to finish the game easily.

Nice win!

I will say this about Washburn...he's not walking people, and he's winning games...

Washburn is, like, a legit No. 2. This is kinda exciting. Makes me wish we still had Jamie Moyer, because then we'd have a legit No. 3.

The White Sox are a shell of their championship selves, but any type of victory will do this team well.

Morrow scares the hell out of me when he comes into the game. He does nothing but throw fastballs lol. Its gonna kick him in the ass soon.

But Putz is a beast. Guy is just lights out. I remember about a year and a half ago when I ripped into him at every opportunity, but he deserved it then. He's really improved as a pitcher, especially with his location.

Beltre 3-4, 'twas nice to see.

I did too. And I may still do it from time to time. But it's undeniable how much better he's been as a closer.

He acknowledged as much on the post game show, saying his breaking stuff just isn't reliable right now so he's having to rely on the fastball until those pitches come around.
