I feel bad for Weaver right now...he got boned on a play at first, and then Bloomquist screwed up at third and now the bases are loaded with no outs. Hopefully he can pitch out of it with limited damage.

Weaver looks alot better today. He seems determined, and looks like he is pitching with a purpose.

Weaver has been somewhat of a pleasant surprise, but of course, whenever he does somewhat decent, it seems the other pitcher has a PERFECT GAME GOING. Holy **** Seattle, don't get completely embarrassed today, please, get a hit, take a walk, SOMETHING.

BTW, I almost vomited today when I saw Bloomquist was starting at third. Second base, I can stomach, but third base? Ugh....

Bloomquist was burned twice defensively...he missed a play at third where Weaver threw to catch the lead runner and Bloomie wasn't prepared so the bag wasn't touched, and on a bunt single by Abreu where Bloomquist threw a feeble throw to first that had no chance of getting the runner.v Tough play, but with Beltre charging and his cannon for an arm, I think he has a shot.

Thumbs down to Hargove for leaving Weaver out there to die in the 6th inning...he'd pitched well, he was between 90-100 pitches, and his control was faltering...why leave him out there to get tagged?

That was ugly. Tim McCarver hit the nail on the head early in the game. The way to beat the Yankees is to wear down the starting pitcher and get to the bullpen... but unfortunately the M's aren't the team to do it. They have a team full of hackers, last in the league in walks over the last few years. Let Wang get in a rhythm and you see what happens.

And the most infuriating thing is that the prototype for playing that kind of game is a former OF-DH who played for Texas and Cleveland in the 70s, and was nicknamed the Human Rain Delay. Why can't this team play more like that? The manager who, of all people, should know better, is putting Willie "Hey, Where's the Base?" Bloomquist in the #2 spot in the lineup.

Yeah, I saw those Bloomquist mishaps as well. Hargrove is the king of making head-scratching moves. & I was shocked as well that they left Weaver in the 6th inning to get completely burned...after a somewhat respectable outing, Hargrove leaves him in there to get the usual ass whooping. It's like they conceded this game before it even started by (1) allowing Weaver to pitch, though he did do better in the first 5 innings than he as all year in ANY inning, (2) starting BLOOMQUIST at third...I knew the game was lost FOR SURE when I saw that.

Damn this team they looked like a little league bunch out there on defense the last couple of games. 2 steps foward 3 steps back!

Well, a split in the series is better than I expected...of course, it's a bit disappointing considering the Yankees weren't exactly on a hot streak with the M's coming in, but hey, I'll take 2/4 over 0/4 anyday. Now, let's hope they can kick some Tiger ass. Bonderman should be a tough one for this team, hopefully they get on him early.
