Solid start by Batista, except for the 3 consective walks..typical of Raul lately.

Evidently, as a result of the win we pulled within 3 games of the Angels for the DIVISION lead.
What IS this parallel universe?

Yeah, where the hell did that come from? Was he out of gas and McLaren just didn't notice (as usual)?
Was today's performance by Contreras something that would cause the M's to pull the trigger on trading for him? You'll note that was a statement, not advocating anything...

That pitch by Sher on the grand slam was just awful. Kenji was set up on the outside corner and George missed high and in, which is a bad spot to a lefty lol.
Great outing by Batista, I was really glad the bullpen held on to get him the win. Oh, and yeah, Ibanez is a beast.
I'm still pissed that the idiotic Red Sox couldn't sweep the double-header against the Angels. Thanks a lot, Gagne!!!

Big Papi going deep for 4. Let's hope that holds up. No more runs in that game please. Using both pitchers in that game for fantasy..

to another Weaver shutout?

Really great job by the offense. Felix wasn't great, but he didnt have to be.
JOSE GUILLEN IS THE FRIGGIN MAN, BABY!
Its too bad New York or Anaheim couldn't lose, but now we start our journey on a ton of road games. We need to do well.

Not a great start for King Felix but Jose Guillen had a great game, if the damn angels would just lose....

I seriously have a tough time believing Jose Guillen is as good as he's been. We were s**tting all OVER that signing because it just screamed of Carl Everett, except he had arm surgery. I still can't believe it's paying off.

One thing that really impresses me about Guillen is how he seems to take a beating and keeps going out there and producing. It seems like every game the guy is fouling a ball off his body or getting drilled by a pitch, and he shakes it off and gets back out there even when it sounds full well like he's going to need a couple days off to heal up. And he still keeps hitting and driving in runs.
Oddly enough, it seems like most of Bavasi's free agent acquisitions have paid off. Guillen drives in runs. Weaver's had a great second half. Batista just doesn't seem to lose. The only one I can think of who's been a total flop is Reitsma. If it weren't for Bavasi's total inability to pull off a decent trade, he might not be that bad of a GM.
But then again, how much of that is luck? Afterall, Bavasi was poised to spend millions on Schmidt and Zito, who ended up being total disasters.

good, taking the series, 2-3 games away from the angels and the #1 wild card spot, just 0.5 ahead of the yankees.
