Great job by Ho. Ram. Solid offensive effort yet again. Yankees' and Angels' going at it, nothing bad can come out of it.

Man, Ibanez is just on a tear! 9 homers in August? Well hell, we were all bashing Raul a few weeks back for his lack of production but he sure is making up for it. Leads the team in RBI too.

Ramirez was pretty solid too. His stat line isnt impressive, but he kept the Twins at bay while the offense racked up runs.

And having the Yankees play the Angels is just awesome! No matter what happens, it helps Seattle. :D I was actually rooting for Anaheim this ONE game just so we could get some breathing room in the wild card. I'm hoping New York wins the next two games though, as long as we win ours.

Also, Detroit has been quietly stinking up the joint lately and is 4 games back of the M's. They can obviously gain it back as quickly as they lost it (since the M's have a strange habit of going on 6-game losing streaks out of nowhere) but it's a good sign so far. Detroit is actually as close to 4th place in the wild card race (Toronto, 8 games back) as it is to first.

tough call on the yankees-angels series. the mariners could get to be the alw leaders or a little more comforable lead for the wild card.

He heard us...who's been snitching? :wavefinger: Now go tell Sexson he sucks too. He's been acutually solid lately.

Who won the NY-LA game? Too late to be in the newspaper today..

Great game by Washburn last night. I was actually thinking we were going to lose the game if we didnt score in that 7th inning, so I'm glad the guys came through. Jose Guillen is my hero for those great slides to break up the double plays.

Perfect scenario today would be a Mariners win and a Yankees win so we close the gap a bit on the Angels.

I guess I could go either way, but I'd probably prefer to see New York lose again, so they're really on the ropes. The M's and Angels can duke it out in September.

Anybody else notice that the M's now have the third best winning percentage in the majors?

1. Red Sox
2. Angels
3. Mariners

That must be it, right? Dammnn.

And now that I think about it, I might prefer New York to lose again as well. I want to win the division quite a bit, but suring up our backup plan (Wild Card) even more would be nice. We'd still have a long way to go, but we have to take advantage of New York struggles.
