So much for getting swept again in Texas. We put up 7 runs in the 6th inning (YA ICHIRO WE LOVE YOU) and are currently ahead 9-4 with Putz in as I type this.
I was worried early on that Weaver would be a victim once again of poor run support but our guys were solid. Lopez had a HUGE 2 out hit, and the rest of the lineup was solid again.
We're now 2 up on New York, and hopefully the Jays can knock off Anaheim tonight.

We won game one 9-4. Nice semi comeback from 3-1 in the 5th.

They should be the Texas Thirty-runners.
Nice win today; let's keep it going.

weaver is 4-0 during august with 3.14 era, 21 Ks and 2 BB, not bad after being 2-10 in his first 16 games.
he seems to be getting himself together, he might make a run for his money.

WEAVER-WEAVER-WEAVER who would have thought that in May?

Great game once again. King Felix was NEARLY flawless, and I'm really happy that he got the win.
More clutch 2 out hits by our offense, but damn, we've been crappy with RISP as of late.
Still, gotta love this team right now!

GOOD WIN TODAY.
Getting the run with 2 outs in the top of the ninth was huge.
Let's see how long they can ride this wave.

I keep asking myself "when are they going to fold?" 10, 9, 8, 7.....I'm at about -28 now.

Is that 20 games over .500 now? Good God...
If you thought the possibility of Carlos Guillen helping the M's make the playoffs was long since did, well, he just did us a big favor tonight. That's a 3 game lead in the Wild Card...

Well, we always figured a Guillen would do the trick...we just picked the wrong one at the outset.

Ditto.
Its just so hard to believe that we are finally supporting a WINNING ballclub again.
But really man, how good has Guillen been, especially for the money he's making:
5.5 mil --> .295, 19 HR, 82 RBI
I LOVE THAT MAN!

as a fan of the opposing team i thought your manager was dumb to give ichiro the day off against a team where he's 6 for 10 in the series and hitting nearly .400 against us this year.
you're in a penant race trying to win every game u can especially against crappy teams and u give your best player the day off?

All of us already realize our manager is an idiot, dont worry.
Didnt get to see (or hear) the game, but it seems like Beltre was pretty **** defensively. Plus, leaving guys on base finally bit us in the ass. I wasn't expecting to win last night anyways with Ramirez on the mound, but hopefully Washburn can come up big tonight.
Sucks that the Yankees won, but, the Angels lost again!

Angels win, Yankees lose...time to strengthen the lead in the WC chase.
Not to look past this series, but how big is that Angels/M's series looking right now? If we sweep it, we have a firm lead in the Division and the Wild Card. If we lose 'em all, the Division's well out of reach and we could be tied in the WC.

Pathetic...Absolutely pathetic.
Dont know how else to describe our performance those last two games. Its pissed me off so much, and as a result, I refuse to watch the series against the Angels because I dont want to be frustrated until this team gets their crap together.
MY GOD! I MEAN...PADILLA!?

I'm glad I didnt decide to watch the game. Its easier to take the defeats.
I cant help but feel like we're about to embark on another 6 or 7 game losing streak. That Texas series was just demoralizing.
