Hmm, interesting.

How reliable is this guy? The details sound legit to me.

Sounds like a steal for the Mariners if all it takes is Jones.

It's not just Jones...sounds like we've also lost Tillman, Clement/Sherrill, and another player. We've just been **** gutted for a pitcher who's not going to be a Mariner in two years time.

I'd be shocked if Clement was included....

From what i've seen, it's Jones/Sherill/Tillman.

But this is the legendary Bill Bavasi we are talking about.....

We probably threw in Felix.

Bedard-Hernandez is a crazy 1-2 punch.

Sign him to an extension right now.

Who can we replace Sherrill with???

Not Arthur friggin Rhodes???

Oh well, we needed pitching, and got a good pitcher...... i'll come back in two years and we'll see if it was a good deal....right now, I like it.

Hey, everyone almost died when we traded Snelling.....and that worked out great.

Can people live with Jones, Sherrill, and Tillman for Bedard?

I think I could.

We'd be getting Bedard, and holding onto Clement, Morrow, Aumont, Balentien, Triunfel, Butler, etc....

Tough to lose Jones. He will be a very solid major leaguer.

I really hope that Clement is not included in the deal...

Bavasi, please sign Bedard to a long-term extension now!!!

Bedard-Felix is sweet.

I wonder who will fill the RF spot now. There are rumors about Brad Wilkerson to Seattle...

I'm glad Bedard is part of the M's and can have a repeat of last season.

His numbers were better than Santana's last season who might be traded too very soon and the Mets are considered the front-runners.

The rumors don't seem at all encouraging: Jones/Sherrill/Tillman/Butler/Mickolio

I still stand by my assertion that Bedard is not helping this team get any closer to the playoffs/World Series over the next two seasons than the combination of those prospects would over the next seven-eight.

Still, at least he seems to have been able to hold onto Truinfel and Clement, so he

As a Mariner homer, I love this and hope to hell Bavasi sighns him to a long extenstion. This is the first time since Randy Johnson we have had an ace and I for one am stoked about the upcoming season!

I have no problem in believing that, with a little bit of luck and career years at the plate for a few of bigger disappointments, this team will give the Angels a legit challenge for the division. But, with the way this team is constructed, that

Well, to be fair, we do have a number of decent lefty relievers, including Erik O'Flaherty, Ryan Rowland-Smith (who is now precluded from making the rotation after the Bedard trade) and Ryan Feierabend (ditto). Cesar Jimenez is also back from injury and reportedly looking good as well. Rhodes would be an emergency option. If we're going to part with a quality contributor, I'd let it be Sherrill. Not that I support this trade overall, as I've mentioned in all the other threads.

Yeah, the last thing this team needs to worry about is the bullpen.

Come on, Peter Angelos! You've screwed over the Baltimore franchise many times before. How about just one more, for our sake? Veto this sucker!

RRS wouldn't be a bad replacement for Sherrill. I like how he pitches but I'm not entirely sure he has enough in his arsenal to make it as a starter...righties figure him out and facing the same lefties 3+ in a game could kill off his effectiveness.

Really, the (possible) success of this deal relies heavily on whether we can sign Bedard to a long-term deal.

If we can, I like it.

If we can't, its just a rape of a deal in favor of Baltimore.

Really, is Bavasi stupid enough to trade away Jones/Sherrill/Prospects for a guy we would be renting for two seasons?

Dont answer that question, guys. :D

What's the deal? Does anybody know?

Last I heard it was Jones/Sherrill/Tillman and some other prospect for Bedard. I hope that other prospect isn't named Clement, Morrow, Balentien, Truinfel, Aumont, or even Butler, for that matter.

Enough's enough.
