Don't know about not including Felix on the list.
Other than that though, it pretty much points to the fact that the Mariners are a now or never team, banking on making a run in the next 2-3 years and then rebuilding. Once Ichiro is post prime (2011ish?) our hopes are gone for at least 5+ years.

Hey! Look, Adam Jones is on there (35). I think Felix should be on there, since there are some questionable ones.

Yeah...go offer Felix to the Red Sox for Dustin Pedroia, and see what happens. That list is a turd.

Check out Asdrubal Cabrera. Those two months of Eduardo Perez were sooooo worth it.

I think if Felix was offered in a 1 for 1 trade for everyone on this list, only about 10 suitors would say no.

Actually it's not just Felix -- pitchers in general are very underrepresented on the list. Santana, Webb, Peavy, Haren (Haren?), Beckett and Verlander are on the list, and that's it. No sign of: Felix, Cain, Lincecum, Chamberlain, Hughes, Buchholtz, Papelbon, Lester, Kershaw, Hamels, Kazmir, Bedard, Lackey, Liriano, Garza, Zambrano, Bailey, Harden, Francis, Snell, Gorzelanny. Probably some others I'm forgetting as well. Try to acquire any of those guys straight-up for Jhonny Peralta (#21) or Ian Kinsler (#25) and see where that gets you. Heck, I wouldn't trade any of those pitchers for Robinson Cano (#11) or Curtis Granderson (#12).
As a former regular on the Neyer message board in its heyday (and occasional correspondent; I gave him fodder for his McGwire-HOF columns), I agree that this is not one of Rob's better works.
