Mariners @ Rays

Post#1 » by BlackMamba » Tue Apr 8, 2008 3:19 pm

Apr 8 - 7:10 pm EDT - E. Bedard (0-0, 1.80) vs. M. Graza (0-0, 8.44)
Apr 9 - 7:10 pm EDT - J. Washburn (0-1, 5.40) vs. A. Sonnanstine (1-0, 6.00)
Apr 10 - 12:40 pm EDT - M. Batista (0-1, 6.00) vs. E. Jackson (1-0, 1.50)

The M's had a very bad series vs. Baltimore, there wasn't much to rescue from those games.

So, still playin away from the beautiful city of Seattle so I don't know really what to expect.

This is a dangerous series. It's still early, but that doesn't mean a 2-8 hole is something can dig out of very easily.

I really like the Rays this year, and I'd gladly take Sonnanstine/Jackson over what we're trotting out on the mound in the latter two games.

Hey, we're still only one game behind the Red Sox, and a game and a half ahead of the Tigers.

Bedard is back!!!

Tampa Bay's offense is very dangerous...they have a lot of very productive hitters.

It looks like K-Rod is headed to the DL, so another injury to the Angels!!!

We need to show up for this series this is a real good team, that is young and hungry. If we don't show up and play some good ball they can get the broom out again!

Wilkerson hopefully will get started with that 2-run single. Bottom of the 3rd, Bedard struggling a bit giving up a HR to Pena.

What made Sexson want to play so good today? 2-2, 3 RBI.

well, i like what i'm seeing so far. the mariners have been able to answer to what the rays have put on the board.

bedard has shown some control problems, but overall he has a pretty good fastball and several breaking balls that really make me feel great about bedard-felix as the 1-2 punch.

lopez batting good, beltr

R-S with the K to end the game. A win! Almost forgot what those looked like, in this young season.

Finally some production from Richie and great work from the pen by RRS.

Nice to get a tough win against a pesky Rays team.

Nice work by Corcoran too.

1 IP, 2 K's

The bullpen actually gave up 0 runs today for the first time this season.

Who is this Corcoran guy? Never heard of em.

Nice to see RS getting some solid work out there. Until O'Flaherty pulls his head out of his ass, RS is our main lefty source from the pen.

Bedard had some control issues, but fought through it against a touch Rays lineup.

Never have i thought one game was as important as this one. I am proud that we battled a very tough rays team, and showed some heart, something we have been lacking. maybe just maybe we can build on this win, and start something good! GO Ms

Nice win. I've been growing bullpen paranoid the last few days.

Just a great game all-around, except for when our idiotic offense couldn't score with men on 1st and 3rd with no outs.

I was so happy when Burke hit that homer. Really like the guy.

Washburn was fantastic. Threw a lot of strikes and kept the Rays off balanced, and then our pen pitched very well for the second straight game.

This is what I'm talking about. Nice to see us rebound from that sweep.

Got a streak going. Beltre had the #2 play on ESPN's top plays.

Return to Seattle Mariners
