8-8 not bad. Considering that Bedard and Putz are on the DL, and Morrow will be seeing action up here soon, we're looking pretty good here.

As I said before the year began, I thought we would go as far as Lopez, Beltre, Silva and Washburn could take us. I feel pretty confident about what Ichiro, Hernandez, Bedard (not injured, of course), Putz and even Ibanez will do for us; but these other guys will make the difference, IMO. So far they're doing pretty decent, especially Silva.

Maybe it will be an entertaining year for us. Hope so.

What really impressed with Felix last night was the way he closed out the game. His manager let him close it out, and he just ramped it up and made pitches that no one was going to be able to hit. Unreal.

He was pitching well the entire game...he gave up some hits, but they were bloops and flares that were products of hitters who were off-balance and guessing. You have to think he's at that point with this is the year that every fifth day we know the opponent isn't going to do **** against us...

I missed the game. How was Felix's concentration level from inning to inning? Did it waver much? Last year that seemed to be a bit of a problem, like he would get flustered, and mentally lose his edge.

His concentration seemed on the whole game, although I did miss the first inning when he was hit in the hand by a hit ball that Betancourt made an error on, allowing a run to score. So I'm not sure how he responded there...I'm guessing OK as he got out of the inning with no further damage.

He seemed pumped up. After big plays and strike outs, he'd pump his fist and show his excitement.

Thanks. This is exciting news. If only Bedard can be the stud we hope for this year. That would be two games every five days of ball that I'd feel like we were going to win going into them.

He responded very well. (2nd inning, btw). Felix looked at his hand a bit with the staff out there, threw one fastball, and told them to get lost. He then retired the next batter. Never lost any focus, velocity, or movement with his pitches.

What really got me excited about Felix was when he struck out Sweeney to end the 8th inning. Man, the emotion King Felix showed gave me goosebumps.

How awesome has Silva been for us?

If Bedard could stay healthy, we'd have the best 1-2-3 starters in the entire league.

We've taken 6 of 8 in our division thus far this year. Woo!

I'm actually a bit surprised that Silva has done so well so far despite pitching to contact most games. I think a good portion of it has to do with the defense behind him, especially Lopez and Yuni, who are both looking better than I remember.

Heady days, friends. Now all we need to do is pray to the injury god that Bedard's injury isn't more serious than is being let on...

That is the key to our season were 10 & 9 without Bedard and JJ not bad, not bad at all. :clap:

I think everybody's surprised. I don't quite get it, to be honest. I didn't expect great infield defense behind him with the exception of Beltre who's...just...awesome...

Still, there's going to be a game pretty soon when he gets absolutely clobbered. You can't pitch to contact and totally escape harm every time.

I don't know if the stats and pitch selection back me up on this but Silva seems to be a totally different pitcher on the road than at home. At home, in the larger park, he seems reliant on flyballs, and his strikeouts/walks spike. On the road, seems like he goes back to trying to get groundballs and his K/BB numbers go back to what we are used to seeing.
