Wow Silva is amazing.
I know he has struggled vs the Indians in the past but not tonight.
He is dominating.
Vidro 2-3 2 RBI!!!
Wilkerson 3-3!!!

Beltre is a baller. 'Nuff said.
And yeah, Silva has been worth every penny of that contract thus far.

It looks like Wilkerson has been released.
I wonder if they will do the same with Vidro but I would like him to be a pinch hitter.
Balentien and Clement are called up and will be available tonight.
I guess Bavasi didn't want to wait any longer.

Norton has also been released.

Why release Norton, who had a purpose, over Cairo?

Vidro is already a switch-hitting pinch hitter while Cairo can field and pinch run which is something Norton can't do and makes him obsolete.
But Norton can give you a HR off the bench and Vidro can't. Norton would've added to our bench depth. I don't feel comfortable with Willie or Cairo pinch hitting.
I guess Bavasi wants to pinch run the other team to death. They should've kept Norton. He actually called Mclaren in the offseason because he wanted to be here. Sucks for Norton.

Balentien will be in the lineup tonight. Clement won't.
If that is the case, show me your power Wladdy!!!

Nice to see Vidro left in because he really came through with that big strikeout in the first inning with two men on...
I don't see what Cairo offers over Bloomquist. You really shouldn't need more than one pinch-runner/middle infield sub. If they feel Bloomquist needs a doppelganger because they may use Willie as an outfield replacement, then they're...missing the point. Maybe keep Willie as the utility guy and keep someone like Jimerson, who's faster than Cairo and likely has better range in the OF than Willie anyway.
Or, hey, call up Reed and boot Cairo since Reed can field and it would be nice to get some use out of him.

Balentien hits a 3 run HR!!!
Too bad the pitching hasn't been there tonight.

I'm looking forward to the Yankees series. We'll have Bedard, Hernandez, and Silva going to the mound for us in that 3 game series. Kind of an early test to see just how good the top of our rotation is.

Did bow2Yao just say that Wilkerson was released a few posts up? For real? So does that mean Wlad the Impaler is going to be our everyday starter? I mean, who else do we have in the OF? I'd love it if it were true.
He's a gangsta, as he showed tonight.
Now we just need Vidro or Johjima to come down with an "injury".

Ouch. Washburn keeps getting lit up. What's happened with him? And how the hell is Ichiro's batting average below .260?

I think it's good to see that Balentien, in one game, got 2 RBI short of what Wilkerson had in almost 20 games.

Thats hilarious and sad at the same time. Like Chris Farley.

^Yeah, it's sad to see Wilkerson go, but he was struggling, and it was best for the team.
Clement starting catcher today. Him and Balentien batting 7-8.

Here's an even cooler stat:
RBI vs. Cliff Lee -
Wladimir Balentien 3
Rest of the American League 1

No hit bid through 4 just got ruined...
Seriously why would anyone dare run on Ichiro? Hafner wasn't even close.

Big break for the M's in the top of the 9th. Arthur Rhodes retiring all 5 batters he faced, best appearance this season.
Sexson possible GW HR in the top of the 10th, 300th in his career, 100th as a Mariner. Congrats to him.
