How do you cap off such an incredibly terrible season? How about losing your “star” pitcher for possibly half of 2009?

(Sorry I’m a bit behind in the news: FYE time over here at work.)

As much as we can blame Bavasi for trading the farm (plus Adam Jones and George Sherrill, lest we forget) for a pitcher with such a risky injury history, I don’t think anybody could have accurately predicted this injury.

Could've accurately predicted this trade wasn't likely to move the team into the postseason, however. I saw this news last week, but didn't bring it up because I was too mad about it.

I'm certain he gets non-tendered...he won't be able to do anything next season due to the nature of his injury (if ever), and this year was so lousy w/ his injuries, the team's record, a lack of stability, and a press that hounded him endlessly that I can't think he found any enjoyment out of his time in Seattle.
