The Mariners have removed struggling Brandon Morrow from the closer role.

Manager Don Wakamatsu says David Aardsma will lead a rotation of relievers who will finish games based on specific situations.

Morrow blew saves in each of the last two games of Seattle's last road trip, when the team went 1-7.

Wakamatsu says Morrow will pitch middle relief for the time being. He made the announcement before the Mariners hosted the Boston Red Sox on Friday night.

On Thursday, Texas' Chris Davis hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning, after Hank Blalock led off with a solo shot against Morrow as the Rangers beat the Mariners 3-2. Blalock hit a two-run double off Morrow in the 11th Wednesday night, leading Texas to a 6-5 victory.

You could see this coming, hopefully it turns out for the best!

Don't have many options at the moment, Bedard will miss his next star.
