Interesting article on tanking

Larry Stone had a good article on the Ms last series of the season in 2008. That same one where they needed to lose a game or two to secure the 1st pick in the draft. Player comments were expected, they try to win every game and certainly arent going to change their plans for some rookie coming in down the road. The comment that sort of struck me as unusual was Riggleman saying he wasnt aware of any "phenom" out there (oviously that would be Strasburg). Was Bavasi as clueless?

Isnt it ironic. Now Riggelman is coaching Strasburg, #### luck or the guys is a genius.

Missing Strasburg, drafting Morrow over Lincecum...these are things that would give me an ulcer if I actually spent time thinking about them. At least our rotation is--oh Snell just gave up at bunch of runs in a game we badly need so nevermind...
