The same team that gave 5-year max to Porzingis while he was RFA... Porzingis was out of basketball court for 1.5 years and he got paid 5-year max...

If it's Cuban's idea, he will give unreasonably expensive contracts with no hesitation.
Wood - Irving may get two albatross contracts as next terrible move of Cubes.

Probably obscure for some here, but anyone remember Tariq Abul Wahad? 6yrs/40 mil contract where he played less then 20 games his whole Mavs stint? Cuban basically told him to stay home for the last 4 years of his contract. That's got to be up there for one of the worst Mavs deals ever since that kind of contract back then was huge.

I will go for the 1996/97 trifecta of bad trades. We lost Jackson, Mashburn, and Kidd. The only good player in return was Finley from all that.

a. Mavericks trade Jason Kidd, Tony Dumas and Loren Meyer to the Phoenix Suns for Sam Cassell, Michael Finley, A.C. Green and a second-round draft pick in 1998 – Dec. 26, 1996

b. Mavericks trade Jim Jackson, Sam Cassell, Chris Gatling, George McCloud and Eric Montross to the New Jersey Nets for Shawn Bradley, Ed O’Bannon, Robert Pack and Khalid Reeves – Feb. 17, 1997

c. Mavericks trade Jamal Mashburn to the Miami Heat for Sasha Danilovic, Martin Muursepp and Kurt Thomas – Feb. 14, 1997

This! The 3 J's were a promising core that finally had Mavs fans hyped, and the team decimated it and did not have anything great to show for it.

The funny thing is if they had hired Don Nelson prior to trading Kidd, he never would have been traded to Phoenix.
