Giannis had only the 5th highest assist rate on the team of anybody with 1,000 minutes in KIdd's first year in Milwaukee (2.6 assists per 36 minutes). The next year he moved up to 2nd, and the year after that he was 3rd.

So -

1) Giannis was 21 when he first started getting serious play as a PG
2) Even then, he wasn't the the primary PG. The Bucks had Michael Carter-Williams (admittedly bad at that job) and then Brogdon as their main PGs.

Yes but i don't think Kidd wanted turn Giannis in a point guard but just develop skills like ballhandling and passing just like with Flagg. They will never be PG but maybe point forward for sure.

Of course it's not the best way to win games but honestly i don't care, this team has no present and our best hope is Coop.

Giannis played against random 5. There's foot speed and athleticism advantage. Coop plays against smaller players. This is way different.

People keep talking about starting DoLo for quick fix. But is it enough to edge against random Western playoff teams? I don't think so. The Mavs is at best play-in teams at this point. I'd rather be patient with the experiment and potential AD blockbuster trade. For example, AD for LaMelo Ball is still great in a long run. AD for Lebron is a classy short-term fix. I'd rather have a nice pick than trying to make the play-in.

I don't think AD is quick enough to guard elite bigs. AD gets blown by Wemby and Chet in this 4-game stretches. This is no where close to DPOY candidates everyone claims for. Although I think everyone is adapting to new roles and new schemes, things might not work out in a short-run. I do have some concerns over aging roster, though.

L.Ball is not a winning player, he's a clown with horrible attitude. And Lebron is 41 or something, why would you trade your best asset for that? You trade AD for draft capital and young promising player and rebuild. Because if you do trade AD it means you have thrown in the towel and signal to tank anyway. Which would also mean there is no point keeping guys like Klay and Kyrie.

But people should learn by now that as long as AD doesn't request a trade and as long as Nico is on the team, he's not going anywhere. First replace GM then go from there....

At a minimum, he needs to come off the bench.

Yeah, might be time to start Christie or DLo. But then they'll miss long range shooting and defenses will just collapse on them. Klay at least still demands respect so usually defender is glued to him.
I would like for Christie to receive more minutes and freedom to score. He might be a positive our roster needs.

Klay is the reason Mavs are mediocre.
Everyone has a right to be stupid. Some just abuse the privilege.
