CP3 made Kidd look old last night...
I reminded me when Kidd was with the Mavs making John Stockton look old. Kidd must have fallen down at least 4 times trying to keep up with him.
It's scary to think how good and how young Paul is... Best PG in the league at 22.

The best point guard in the NBA might be stretching it, but he was great last night... I thought Kidd played pretty decent defensively anyways, he grabbed a few steals and was right up on people for the time he was in there... I dont think Harris could have done too much better of a job on Paul last night, he was on fire.

I really like the way Kidd would collapse down on the post and try to steal the ball from the big nasties... that will really help out our post D. Kidd is definitely fearless when he's down in the paint driving or rebounding.
If Paul isn't the best who are the PG's you think that are better? Don't you think he should be the MVP this year?

Paul loves playing at home. He doesn't like the road that much. Hornets got beat by 9 in December in Dallas and Paul only had 3 assists. Let's wait and see what happens in Dallas on April 16th, the last game of the season. Should be fun.

That would be a better evaluation since this was Kidd's first game. But only if there is still a fight for positioning in the West on the last day.scramm wrote:Paul loves playing at home. Kidd needs an adjustment period. For goodness sake, they were still playing isolation style basketball last night. The offense improved with Terry in the game. New style and lots of practice in the 28+ games remaining. We may not see the best of this until the 2008-09 season when everyone goes through a camp with Kidd and the new offense. Until then, it's an adjustment and it's a transition...
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I totally agree with you on this your_dallas_mavericks.
But at the same time, he will be 35 going on 36 next year.
I still think our bet chance to win this year was by keeping Harris because of the totally different styles adn the fact that HArris' stregths would be used better against the West.
And next year, Harris may be non-arguably better than Kidd.
Thus, btwn the two, I hated this trade all together.

I keep tellin' ya, the trade isn't truly over until we pick up a big man or two to fill out the lineup. Then you can examine the trade for what it is. I also wouldn't mind after picking up 2 bigs that we buyout Malik Allen (if possible) in order to sign Brent Barry. Now that would be sweet, yet it's probably a pipe dream considering players see only the Fake Show, the Dones, and the Spurts as the only teams in the West worth playing for...

Harris will never ever never in his whole career be as good as Kidd is now.
I doubt that at the peak of Harris's career (maybe 3 years from now?) he'll even be as good as Kidd is then.
Kidd is looking for his 100th triple-double.
Harris (when he plays again) will be looking for the 3rd double-double.
It's like arguing whether Alex Smith of the 49ers is or will be better than Favre. He isn't, and he never will be. One is a borderline bust and the other is a first ballot HOF. Just like Harris and Kidd.

Give Kidd a break. It was his first game and he was trying to fit in and make the other players like him. Now that he has found out tha Dampier cannot catch, Jho disappears in the second half, Terry is hot and cold and Avery couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag, things will be different.
Look to see Kidd more aggressive.
Also expect to see more of A. Wright, he is used to playing with Kidd and should be used more.
Diop and Hassel are more of a loss than George and Jones would be.
The next two games will be helpful in gelling the group.
Yep C. Paul did good last night.
