Are you kidding me?

Everyone for this trade says that we werent going to get the trade done. So comparing Kidd's perfromance to Devin's and saying that its ok that Kidd didnt play well and Chris Paul went off like crazy because the same had when Harris was here is bogus. We got Kidd to become better. Staying at the same level is not acceptable.

Dont get me wrong. I understand New Orleans is a good team, Howard is still injuried, and Kidd is getting use to everyone and everyone is getting use to Kidd, but for future consideration, we need to be better than we were before the trade.

First it was not aimed at you. Second I am not saying that Kidd gets a pass just pointing out that Harris had a rough time with Chris Paul also but that Harris happened in the middle of the season and Kidd's first game with the Mavs. Third I think you hit the nail on the head with your last statement. The thing is asking the Mavs to come out and play the way we want them to with one practice, against a great team and with injury issues is a little much to ask right of the bat.

Are you Kidding me?

Devin had better stats and less turnovers period (and you only put stats of the lower of 2 games against NO.

Then Harris played less minutes. And when he was in, Avery let them play the switch more often. In this game Kidd ghosted Paul as much as he could as if he thought we were playing man to man defense. Paul tonight is all on Kidd. Paul last time was very week against Harris and made up for it against Terry/Barea and the switch with zone defense.

I wasn't going to say anything about this game, but your ignorance had ro be addressed!

PGs get less turnovers (more assists) by getting adjusted to their teammates. They score more by running some kind of motion offense with people moving, NOT standing around. Also on the turnovers thing- it's funny people mention this since Devin Harris wouldn't pass it unless he had to. Drive to the rim, drive to the rim, drive to the rim, oh there's a defender? Maybe I'll pass it to Dampier.

I would conclude that this Paul kid is just pretty damn good. Whether it's Kidd, Harris, or Terry, Paul is going to have his way offensively. Probably the case with about 98% of the Gs in the league though.

I thought the offense already looked a lot better with a true point running the show. Kidd does need to learn which players he should not throw the ball to, and the other guys need to adjust to having a true PG dishing out lasers, but it seems the offense is and will be vastly improved.

The perimeter D stunk before and seems to still stink. The other thread on the Wright kid seems to suggest he's a solid defender, so hopefully he can work his way into the rotation and provide some help there.

Get a decent back-up C in here, and I think we (fans) may just have a fun little playoff run to look forward to.

So, I guess tha mean, oh everybody's coverd, but I'm wide a$$ open, why do't I force a pass too high for Josh so that he has to make an acrobatic catch and hope he does not fall out of bounds and then pass in a spot Damp can't catch. Yup, that was Kidd last night.

And Harris made plenty of passess. His fault was many times he gave the ball up to early to Terry or Howard outside the 3pt line. And when he went in, he passed when the center had a better shot! One thing you can't fault him on is careless passes. That's Kidd's amo and when the other player DOES get it, it ends up on the highlight real.

But once again, I wasn't goign to make judgement on Kidd for at least 3 games, but cmavswin wants to try and stir things up....well...he did!

How on earth can you come to that conclusion? Dirk was trying to prove to the world that this was a good trade. He even took the post moves to the rim...which is rare and had nothing to do with any passes from Kidd. If Dirk played with half that emothion with Harris, we would be at least 6 games in front of 2nd place in the west.

Then Josh Howard...2-11!
Bass 1-3.

Are those not the 2 players he is supposed to make better?

Our offense was horrid last night. Thankfully, the Hornets offense was not all that either until the 2nd half.

2007, don't start trouble with Reg. You and him have a history.
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I really wish I couldn't see quoted material from Ignored posters. Anyway...

This is correct. Paul made Kidd look bad at times last night, just as he did with Devin Harris in the first game against NOH. Regardless of what "scheme" Avery played in that first game, the results were the same: Paul went nuts. We ought to at least give the Mavs with Kidd another shot at Paul (as Devin Harris had) before judging too harshly.

But even so, I didn't want Kidd here because I thought he could guard Chris Paul. I don't think he can do that very effectively. I did, however, see flashes last night of what I wanted from Kidd: a good, team-oriented fast break; a good team defender; etc.

Anyway, exactly what I warned against has already started happening: overanalyzing Kidd after one game with the team.

No

I compared "apples to apples" Devin's first game this season vs. Kidd's on the road in NO.

Sorry unlike you I don't take the game that makes Devin look the best and use that as my measuring stick.

I wasn't going to say anything about this game, but your ignorance had ro be addressed!

Might want to keep that stance for awhile because you look silly when you don't. Also ro use to play for the Mavs back in the 80's.
