You guys barely slipped by the Bulls in OT. The Bulls are under .400. Don't people appreciate Kidd anymore?

After the way he left NJ like a classless unprofessional, not really. Good luck to you guys though.

And that was the best overall effort i've seen from the Nets all season to be honest with you, the only reason the bulls were close is because we're trying to develop some chemistry. Kidd won't be missed here, but your guys, once they get used to him, will benefit from a lot from him.

Take care Mavs fans. And for the love of god, someone tell avery to not put Malik Allen on the floor.

Why you gotta be a damn troll for? I live in NJ and I have yet to hear a sound bite of Jason Kidd going off talking about " trade me, trade me" .....Saying the way Kidd left is classless/ unprofessional is asinine IMO..

2 first rounders, a young PG, 3 million in cash and your luxury tax increases dramatically..... all for a 35 year old (next month).

I LOVE Jason Kidd on the court....But you guys paid more for him than Miami Paid for Shaq 4 years ago!!!

Wow you sure are early on this. We never realised that Kidd had been traded. We like the same threads again and again and again. We hope you pollute our boards with more crap like this.

First of all, picks matter little to us because unless it's a lottery pick we're not going to get a half-decent player. I mean look at our track record in the draft since 2000: Pavel, Ager, Sekularac, Langhi, Wang, Leon Smith, Satterfield, Fazekas. The best player out of that bunch was Etan Thomas -- J-ho was more of a slip-up by GMs more than quality scouting. We have more success in non-draft-related pursuits of young talent like Daniels, DJ, Diop, and now Bass.

With regards to the never-ending luxury tax issue - who cares? Unless you're Cuban, it's a pointless fact. The only thing that matters is the cap situation, and we're over it for the next couple of years so it's of no concern to us.

Third, I would much happily mortgage our next two seasons (not future, since this team has no future given the age of our core players prior to the Kidd trade) on a 35 year-old hall of famer than an overrated scoring guard. That's not a knock on Harris because I love the guy and he'll be missed (particularly against SA) but I'm sick and tired of people making it seem like he can hold a candle to the elite group of CP3, Deron, and other young up-and-coming PGs.

Yeah going public and faking migranes are 2 very classy acts right?
Face it Kidd is for lack of a better word a d*** who deserves to retire without a single ring.

Yep.

To be blunt, it was a horrible deal. Avery Johnson will be gone soon. Kidd's 35 and you NEVER get quicker with age. Paul and Deron Williams will own him.

How ironic is it the Mavs give up a PG who wins back-to-back league MVPs, and then they go and trade away Fort Knox to get an older PG than the one they wouldn't pay in the first place?

The Mavs got to the finals mainly because of the quickness on the wings, the shotblocking and rebounding, and Dirk's stellar year. Diop pushed Dampier and he brought the Mavs a spark defensively, even if he was a wretched offensive player. This season Josh Howard's hurt and Avery's lost confidence in Diop and Harris, and Avery's told Dirk to change his game.

Marquis Daniels and Dein Harris are now histery. Reminds me of when Micheal Jordan ran the Wizards and shipped out Rip Hamilton for Stackhouse. I knew that was not a good move. Don't trade away youth and quickness for veterans that have peaked!

Dallas made the worst deal of all the deals I've seen so far.

The problem is now the Mavs are old an unathletic on the wings. Paul took one game to expose Kidd. Another problem is that Dampier's not been one to come through and he and Dirk have been at odds in teh past. Just wait til playoffs when he and Malik Allen go up against West, Chandler, Yao, Shaq, Bynum, etc.

Just a horrible deal for Dallas.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

I think each of these points is wrong, particularly the last one (which is definitely incorrect).

Paul took one game to expose Kidd.

He also took one game this season (also in New Orleans, BTW) to expose Devin Harris...the all-world, shut-down defender that no PG has ever scored on. The kid's damn good.

[Damp] and Dirk have been at odds in teh past.

Did I miss their feud, or is he referring to that ONE TIME Dirk yelled at Damp?

Too bad DDansby123's point is incorrect. The Harris game, Avery played zone and had Paul on the switch too often. The scores came against the player on the switch and when Harris was on the bench. When Harris was covering Paul, Paul could not do much.

Kidd was playing man to man.

Yet, he still bring stat same argument up everytime someone mentions Harris/Paul.

You know it's bad when an ex, who is a Pistons fan 1st and Suns' fan 2nd calls you up just to rub it in full of giggles that your team (Mavs) are going to lose in the 1st round.

You guys won't win it all this year. Just wait until next year when Kidd knows the offense and is comfortable with it and able to have a full season with the team. You guys will probably make a second round exit. I see PHX and LAL in the conference finals but next year I have you guys coming out of the west.

I think we all hope that but fear that this team may be too old and too thin to make such a play. We need to see how this year finishes, and no one was encouraged by the first game.
