K. Thomas
D. Stoudamire
G. Giricek
B. Barry
T. Ratliff
S. Cassell
PJ Brown

There must be a reason, is it Cuban, is it the fact the players know we are cursed or something? Dale Davis should be next of players to spurn us.

Kurt Thomas definitely shouldn't be on this list considering he was traded to San Antonio for the expiring contracts of Barry and Elson. Secondly I don't think any of these players really spurned us. All of them, with the exception of Barry, went to teams that offered more playing time than what the Mavericks could offer. Honestly if you are Sam Cassell who would you rather back up, Rondo or Kidd? Veteran players want to go to the team that will offer them most playing time and a chance at a championship, not just one or the other. Lets be happy we have one of the deeper teams in the league and managed to pick up Jamal Magloire instead of having to rely on Dale Davis or Theo Ratliff to be the only backup to Dampier.

^^ Yes, I agree with what you are saying but it seems in all facets of FA that the Mavs are constantly spurned and end up getting stuck with 2nd and 3rd rate FA pickups. Look at all the players that have spurned us and those we ended up "having to sign"... The Eddie Jones' of the world come to mind. The Devean George's of the world also come to mind. Brandon Bass was a lucky gift we got from Byron Scott's dog house. Guess he didn't want an animal hanging around LOL!

Regardless, we constantly get spurned, there must be a reason why.
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I truly think it's Cuban... he blacklisted Devean's agent after that debacle.. I think he blacklisted Devean's agent because devean's agent.. along with all the other agents... blacklisted Cuban long ago. How else do you explain cuban's constant failure bringing in free aqents? Cuban has alienated everyone else in the NBA.. I bet he is the worst with agents behind the scenes.

What about Lue? Sounds like a reasonable pick up.
Justin Williams as well.

Suns To Sign Giricek
March 1, 2008 - 5:35 am
East Valley Tribune -
The Phoenix Suns are expected to sign Gordan Giricek to a contract for the remainder of the season, providing he clears waivers, the East Valley Tribune is reporting.

Giricek will provide three point shooting for Phoenix that the Suns were hoping to gain via Brent Barry, who decided to re-sign with the Spurs. [READ]
