I would say this is the most difficult system for a big man to fit in.
Damp has done a good job so far.

The Big Man of the Mavs is supposed to manhandle opponent 4 & 5, at the same time, he should be able to stop the penetrating guard who get losen by subpar defensive guards and secure the rebound as well. Otherwise, he would be on the way out like Gana Diop.

What an inconvenient truth! If we can't stop anyone, I doubt we can even get the 8th seeds.

true..

dampier needs to guard his man, have dirk's back when he loses his man and needs to run back the other side when other guards blow by JET... we need an enforcer...

Damp

Seems to me like Damp had problems with Devin. But so did everyone on the team. New Jersey loves Devin right now, but all I see is another shoot first guard. Plenty of those in the league.

Mavs aren't winning right now. Their energy seems to come and go like they don't care about defense. Kind of weird. Last year they played like every game was a playoff game. I beleive most of the spark came from Devin Harris and Josh Howard. But now that Devin is gone they're looking at Kidd to get it back.

Josh is finally playing well offensively. But his intensity seems like its gone. I can remember his first 2 or 3 years in the league when he played very hard every minute. Now he looks bored, like he's waiting for Avery to call his number for a play.

Avery just might be losing this team like everyone is saying. Or maybe they're still getting used to Kidd at the point. I'm hoping its the later.

you and me both!
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...
