The Dallas Mavericks just played the three Western Conference division leaders in a five-day span. They had a win against lottery-bound Sacramento mixed in, but the losses to San Antonio, the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah were deflating.
"Five days?" Jason Kidd said. "Has it been that long? Seems like every day."
That's the way it is in the West, where the eight playoff teams were separated by five games when they woke up Tuesday morning, with Denver lurking another game and a half back.
It seems like every game is a major test, which makes the coming stretch for the Mavericks so crucial. They actually have a slew of games they need to

I thought playing NJ this Sat would be difficult, but the way Harris is playing in NJ, we could easily win that one. Harris was a slasher & defender here. Watching the NJ games, he is looking like Terry 2.0. Many 3 pt attempts, less slashing, less defense. But he is happier doing that than the things he is doing in NJ than the things I appreciated from him here in Dallas.
Last 5 games
Devin Harris
33.0 MPG, 18.8 PPG, 5.5 ASP, 3.0 RPG, 1.0 SPG, 40% from 3
Those look more like Terry like numbers than Harris like numbers.
Jason Terry
33.6 MPG, 11.8 PPG, 2.8 ASP, 2.2 RPG, 1.4 SPG, 33% from 3
Those look more like Harris like numbers (except the assists).

This stretch of home games is a blessing. Avery now has the chance to work with Kidd and work on the weaknesses of this team. I would like to see a much improved perimeter defence, most teams out there shoot threes like there is no tomorrow, so i think this would be key for a winning streak.
And they better start to win now, i want no part of San Antonio or LAL in the first round.
@JES: And i admit that making the playoffs in no sure thing anymore

Seeing as we have always been in the west, no welcome party is needed!aznkillabeezZz wrote:Welcome to the west conference. There isn't any freebies like the east.
But you may need to be prepared for the ass whoopin' you are about to recieve!
We can always count on beating the Rockets to get us out of a slump!

He'll be fine, don't worry, i bet he is pumped up, it will be his first start here, and he will do just fine. He's not gonna force anything, and i believe he can play efficient defense on Scola, who is smarter and taller, but Brandon is the more athletic, and a lot stronger, it will be an interesting matchup. If he plays well, please admit it.

I hope Terry will be on fire, just like almost always against Houston. We need Josh to bring his "A" game too. Anything less then 8 win in that 10 game stretch would be a huge disappointment. Let's go Mavs!

I'm in someone's fav five!
I appologize to all mav fans for my pessimism! I may not like the deal, but I'm over it and looking forward with this group.
Go teh mavs!
2007, you've always been in my Fav Five and I don't even have US Cellular!

I guess my eternal optimism has rubbed off on ya. I da man!

If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...
