Dirk and Kaman frontline... this summer!

Post#1 » by SaintofKillers » Tue Mar 4, 2008 2:40 pm

Kaman is waiting to be approved for a German passport to become eligible for that country's national team. He hopes to join Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki on the team and compete in this summer's Olympic trials and, hopefully, in the Beijing Olympics. "The USA never approached me about anything, so I just want to be able to play in the summer," Kaman said. "And this is a way to do it, and it's not some cheesy summer league."

"Dirk put me in contact with a couple of people with the German federation, and they're trying to help me out," Kaman said. "They're trying to dig into my history and find out where I'm from. ... I don't know what the percentages is, the rules and everything. You have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get there. And it kind of stinks, but you have go through it." Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy gave Kaman his blessing to play for the German national team.

dirk finally gets some decent help in the german team....

wish we had him in dallas too... would be pretty nice to have consistent offensive production from our center spot...

Would love to see a Dirk/Kaman front court.

Too bad the only way it MAY happen is in a German uniform.

hold your horses fellas...

if we fix a howard/JET + filler package, it might be enough for a kaman/maggette swap... though that would leave us with dirk as our only 3 point shooter..

Imagine this:

C - Kaman
F - Dirk
F - Artest (MLE?)
G - Maggette
G - Kidd

I heard Kaman and Brand don't work well together! So that might be the precedent to move him! One can dream, aight?

I would trade JET for Maggette or Kaman, but I wouldnt throw Howard in the deal for either one of them. Why is it that every time a center has one good year the Mavs look at them (Damp, Mags, Kaman (possibly)

Well, Howard has only one good quarter and we think he's untouchable.

You know, I don't think he is untouchable. I think he's bordering on it, but he's moving closer and closer to touchableville all the time...
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

Maggette is likely going to opt out after this season and try the free agent market.

If Kaman can play Germany will have a pretty good shot at the Olymics. I wonder how Kaman qualifies for german citizenship?

I man, that s$%&s animal parts...first the german bundesliga (first division) is skrewd by basically canceling the minimum of native players to be on a team and now that? the german national team is on its way to the sewers...no playing time for germans in the leagues...no playing time on the national team...in about 4 years germany won't even be able to beat some of the women national teams.

dirk retires after bejing...okulaja (most americans should know him...he was UNC's sixth man, backing up jamison+carter) is done...everyone else is either bad or on his way to retirement...what will happen with chris after this summer?

dont get me wrong...i love chris, but thats just not the way it should be done...not while he doenst at least live in germany (like that PG from russia does there)

and that said, I have to tell you, that I'm from germany and I'm rooting for that team!

...damn even shawn bradley played for us...and I think it was, coz his great grandmother owned a German shepherd dog! :D

...we called Shawn "Siggi" to hide him (which is not to easy with a guy of his size) and he didnt even start over patrick femerling (our teamcaptain.....its not dirk)!

our team is meat as of right now and thats coz of actions like that!

I just saw our under 16 national team (also called "life after dirk") and TBH if one or two can earn money with that sport we can be happy...not to speak of competing in international turnaments!

I hope they dont find a way to make it happen!
